I don't really know how to add in pictures, so I'll just hand in the links.

this is what it was supposed to look like. Instead in sapien it looks like this.

I dunno why this is happening. Also I should mention. In tool most of the bitmaps I use come up as color-key transparency. Might this be the problem?

I think you have to fix the lightmap, relight the map, possibly with a lightmapping tool. Also, the map is white because you did not set the bitmaps and shaders for the bsp.

This happens to some of my maps too.

I've redone the lightmaps with Tool++ but still white... How do you set bitmaps and shaders for the bsp?

The material name in max/gmax is what shader will be applied to those faces.
I suggest the tutorial "making a map" by wkhguru.

You must create shaders with the same name as the materials in the map. Then you must link those shaders to their bitmaps and add detail maps.
