Mythril needs help with the lightmaps for Savior.

[mythril] 7:48 PM ): savior [gamma927] 7:48 PM oh [mythril] 7:48 PM once again, it's the lightmaps the problem is THERE IS NO ERROR if I run lightmaps through tool [gamma927] 7:49 PM bueno [mythril] 7:49 PM all I get is the [gamma927] 7:49 PM wait [mythril] 7:49 PM some areas don't have background sound Done [gamma927] 7:49 PM wtf are you doing running lightmaps at school [mythril] 7:49 PM not now rofl earlier didn't mention it earlier though [gamma927] 7:49 PM I KNOW >> and now i'm busy as [crap] rofl [mythril] 7:49 PM and if I run it in sapien then I can't save it nothing happens nothing is lit up :sadface: I can't implement my new bsp with this [error] in my face
He wishes to have his map out before Christmas / the new year, and would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help him with this.

While I agree with you, I Don't get how that could affect the running of the lightmaps. I have never had that issue when running lightmaps in tool. That is the one thing that has always worked for me except if I had bad UVs. That's the only error I have ever gotten. Does it maybe have to do with an issue with the portaling?

Every time I run lightmaps in tool, I always get the clusters missing sound. It doesn't affect the lightmaps as I have successfully built them before even with this warning. I previously had a bad UVs error, but after I rebuilt an edge of the sky, it appeared to be fixed. I dont see any errors affecting the lightmaps here.

Is something in the .scenario Tag of your map and i know (from experience) has nothing to do with lightmaps.
EDIT:
(pointless above, i just read your post more thoroughly.)

This does not affect lightmapping process. I have always gotten this warning when compiling lightmaps in tool. It's only being like a cranky grandma complaining that she didn't get prunes with her oatmeal.
The fact that the map is not going through errors means one of two things:
1. The scenario is not properly hooked to a skybox or there are no skybox polys in the map. I doubt this is the problem. 2. The path was typed in incorrectly. tool lightmaps levels\pitfall\pitfall pitfall 0 0.9 right?
If these are not the problem, I don't know what's up.
EDIT: The problem may also somehow be caused by some bad UV's, and somehow tool didn't feel like outputting the error. But then again, if it says DONE, then the issue is still most likely the skybox not being linked correctly to the scenario....

It says done no matter what, I think. Are you sure you're waiting long enough? I have to wait a long time sometimes just for the numbers to start showing up. Make sure you type it like mooseguy said.

I have always run lightmaps in tool. Lighted shaders WILL give off light in the lightmaps, you just forgot to set them up correctly in Guerrilla. Plus, you can add extra detail light with device lights, make sure they have color and power attributes.

I'm using default Halo shaders from a30, b30 and b40.
@elefant I'll try once more when I have the time, if it still fails, then I'll send to you :3
ninjae: okay, issue resolved somehow, reran in sapien for 20 minutes or so, then saved. It's working again, must've been a one-off issue :S
now, about the fact that I accidentally moved the bsp a little from where it was... FFFUUUU repopulate or try to move the bsp back? Edited by Mythril on Dec 2, 2010 at 04:18 AM
