So I interviewed Higuy about Lumoria. Quote: Mr. Doompig444: First question: Can I have Lumoria? Right now? Higuy™: No. You get it Friday. Mr. Doompig444: HEARD IT HERE FIRST, FRIDAY. I can hardly wait :P. So, how long has TM been in existence? Higuy™: Actually, you heard it first from me =) Mr. Doompig444: Whatevz. Higuy™: TM Mapping Team has been around since the creation of the map "Peril" Mr. Doompig444: Can I have in estimate in years? Higuy™: Almost 2 years, probably a bit over Mr. Doompig444: I see. Then, how long have you guys been working on Lumoria? Higuy™: It will be exactly one year when we release it. Mr. Doompig444: Dang, that's pretty slick. Higuy™: Indeed. Mr. Doompig444: Well, of it's year-long production, what part took the longest? Like, animating, or planning, or modeling, or what? Higuy™: The worst part of Lumoria was trying to get animators. You don't see many 3rd Person animators these days, at least not in Halo CE. We had a good one for a while, unforuntatley his power supply broke and was unable to help us. Mr. Doompig444: Who would that be? Higuy™: That would be Eyeballman 68 (Or Jackal Stomper). Hes a good guy. Mr. Doompig444: Oh. I've been informed he did the, for example, dropship animations. Higuy™: Yes, he did pretty much 50% of the custom animated scenes in Lumoria. We also had Teh Lag, and now we have Shade117 Mr. Doompig444: Ah, Shade, that Australian guy who's never online when you are. Higuy™: Yes Mr. Doompig444: Moving on. Why did you create Lumoria? Higuy™: The team and I had never worked on a single player mission, and Halo CE has never seen a decent mission released with a full story and that classic gameplay from Halo that everyone loves. I think we all just wanted to make something great and expand on our own universe. Thanks to two men, Lodex and il Duce Primo, we were able to achieve this. Mr. Doompig444: Only those two? Higuy™: Well no, my team did a great job and espcecially everyone else who helped in some way. But Lodex and Duce helped alot. Lodex was good at making gameplay and implementing it into the mission. il Duce is really good at organizing and designing BSP's. They both tought me alot about what I know now. And not just me, the team too. Mr. Doompig444: I see. But I heard there were some disagreements with il Douche later on? Duce* Higuy™: lol. Yes there was, I don't want to get into it. Either way, im still decent friends withhim and he did impact the mod in a great way. Mr. Doompig444: Oh, all right then. So... rate Lodex's poetry on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the best. Higuy™: 11. Mr. Doompig444: Wonderful. So how did you guys make the decisions that you did? For example, with the tagset. Higuy™: Well, like I said, I think we all eventually realized that what we were aiming to create was a classic level retaining that great feel Halo did the first time around. We planned all our BSP's out so that we made sure we achieved that and the tagset was kept classic for obvious reasons. However, I would expect to see some additions in the game. Mr. Doompig444: Any... new enemies, for example? This is not a spoiler. Higuy™: We do, but im not going to say. Id like to keep that a suprise. Mr. Doompig444: I bet you do, and I'm sure people will be surprised indeed. Well, anyway, how would people attempting to create something on a similar scale proceed? Higuy™: Before you do anything I think their team should get together and set down some base standards on what they want to achieve and the quality of it. After that, you should create the story, and design the entire mission throughout. After that is when you get working on gameplay. Mr. Doompig444: More in-dept on that, when you guys were making Lumoria, did you make the BSP slowly flow together from encounter ideas, or did you have a grand plan on exactly what you wanted everything to be like the whole time? Higuy™: From the story we created we knew what we wanted, however we skipped the part were you should design all the bsp's and encounters before hand. Instead, we designed bsp by bsp, and we didn't realize that this would lead to having two map files. Lumoria is a very large map. Mr. Doompig444: I can tell. Well, I think we've all learned a lot today. But there's just one more thing I want to learn. Are you a virgin? Higuy™: Maybe. Thats a secret the public will learn another day. Mr. Doompig444: Sad face. Higuy™: Just kidding. Im still looking for where it went. I lost it somewhere, not sure where though! Mr. Doompig444: Is that even safe? Higuy™: No. Don't attempt that at home kids. Mr. Doompig444: I see. Well then, thank you very much, Mr. Higuy, for your time. Higuy™: No problem Doompig.

I cold use a team like that... All I have is an animator who isn't exactly the best but is good(from what I can tell) a voice actor and a scripter.
Anyway that is somewhat interesting...

"bada** campaign" is pretty much given isn't it? Also in terms of your voice acting try to lower your voice. But it is pretty nice.

It has been posted enough, repeatedly, and every single person in the forum has had it emailed to them when they joined. This is a cardinal rule it is the cost of admission it is not negotiable I have never wavered from it and never will so Let me highlight the relevant section. READ THE RULES: http://forum.halomaps.org/index.cfm%3Fpage=topic&topicID=2979Cardinal Rules: Violating these rules will get you banned:2. NO Profanity! No cursing. Do not use vulgar language. Do not post links to offensive material or use offensive language. If you or the forum software has to censor your words do not use them. Please think before you post something that could be offensive to others. Profanity is not allowed in these forums. There is no argument and no excuse. it is not allowed period.

Awesome interview Are you saying, two map files for just part 1? Or are you merely referring to the 2 parts?
