I was just wondering... Is it at all possible to implement a train in a map, either as a usable vehicle or as recorded scenery as a vehicle you can enter a side seat in?

Yes, if you make and animate one. It would probably be very difficuly to make on drivable, so you could make a vehicle constantly following a set of animations and have a side seat for the player to get into. This would not fork in a multiplayer map.

What if you made it work like a normal vehicle, but made it incapable of leaving the tracks?

I know Koo294 told me about an idea for mine carts that he had, which involved laying railroads across the map, then making a tunnel beneath them. Then making the mine cart, and when making the physics, put the physics below the actual cart, that way, the physics would be inside the tunnel below the tracks, and make it only move on the tracks. Granted, it'd probably be very buggy, and even more so in multiplayer, but I never saw the results of this idea, so it's worth a try.

We would all like to see that happen. Ii it possible to import a .obj file into gamx? It can save me some time, and I could implement modern aircraft.

Is it possible to attach turrets to it? And also, are there any good gmax mapping tutorials? I can't find any. This is for my World War 2 maps.

Exactly. You would run an animation, and use scripts to read/write the animation ticks into a vehicle-sync number, like Grunts has developed.

Not necessarily. You know how campaign dropships are recorded animations, and, if allowed, you can get into the side seats? I wanted something like that.

Animated Scenery dosnt sync in the first lace so why would attaching a seat to it make it sync. look at the train the Area map. it was horrible lag. the most times you could get it to sync was if everyone joined at the same time.

This, like most of my ideas, would be for single player.

You could get a group of friends to play with you, everyone join until the server is full, then switch maps to one with the train.
