...And then end up climbing into the cryo pod! Genius! lol. No actually this does sound kind of interesting. Would you be sent to Halo to investigate the flood, then send them all back into the c10 facility, and work on the rest of the Covies from there?

Fly in with the longsword to assist with flood purging. The covenant are present to try and destroy the hated infidels. Stop the reactor from detonating, due to flood mischeif. Enter the monitor, a floating blue spherical construct who directs you to a covenant cruiser over-run with the flood and at risk of detonating, covenant security forces attempt to repel you because of your human nature. The cruiser is clear of flood/covenant, and you have the thanks of the Monitor, who locates Captain Keyes, imprisoned. He informs you of the Halo installation's true function and how the flood have mistaken it's purpose, and activated it. You must go with the help of the monitor to destroy the phase generators to prevent Halo from firing. You are teleported by the monitor directly to the first generator, however, after it's destruction, an EMP blast wipes out most of the sentinels escorting you and damaging the teleporting capabilities of the monitor. You proceed on foot to destroy the rest. Finally, to ensure the saftey of the galaxy, you enter the control room and retreive the index.
Cortana helps recalibrate the teleportation grid and sends you back to the Libary to place the Index back in safe hands. You fight through the flood attempting to steal the Index and place it back into a containment field.
The monitor, now fully restored and repaired, makes a decision with Keys, Cortana and yourself. The flood must be destroyed or recontained in the facility. You are sent in with a strike force of Marines and Sentinels. You battle the flood while other teams mop up covenant resistance. You seal the doors and the flood are sucessfully contained.
A Covenant strike team have neutralised Halo's defences on the installation's control room. This threatens the saftey of the galaxy once more. Should they be able to activate Halo, all will be lost! You must travel to the site. Previously, other Human units have attempted to retake the facility to no avail. You manage to secure the area. Once the monitor gains access, he detects a large covenant force in the Installion, the Silent Cartographer. It contains vital information which could potentially lead them to many vital points on the ring, threatening it's security and stability. You must take them out and corrupt the Silent Cartographer so that it will not yeild any secrets to the enemy.
A major thrust is made by a Human/Monitor alliance. The strike force will forge a beachhead and you are among the troops. The monitor will teleport a team of Sentinels once you have cleared the teleportation zone, which is on the beach. The sentinels and humans battle to the Silent Cartographer, corrupting it and then retreating. There is no time for pelican evacuation. You make do with a Spirit dropship and flee past huge incoming covenant forces, disguised as one of them. The covenant have banded together to destroy you and the monitor's forces by activating the the Cruiser's Glassing Weaponry. Board the Truth and Reconciliation in the Spirit dropship to neutralise the threat. A weak point can be found in the brig, a HYTAC detonated there will shatter the cruiser. Keyes stays behind to safeguard the bomb after being mortally wounded by covenant forces. Escape before the bomb you plant explodes. Use the gravity lift to escape to the surface. The covenant will destroy you at all costs. You escape to a cliff edge and a brave pelican pilot flies in to rescue you, in the nick of time.
While fleeing the area, you encounter coveneant installations which shoot you down. Your pelican crashes. Join up with other Pelican survivors and escape! Meet up at a designated zone to return to the Autumn. Pelican airlift sends to back to the now repaired POA. You dock and find that the covenant have boarded the ship in a desperate attempt to possess ownership of the only spacecraft large enough to carry them all and with slip-space capabilities. You battle your way through them and reach the bridge. Installing Cortana as the captain, she quickly directs troop movements and destroys the rest of the covenant. The pillar is free from the threat. You enter the cryobay, and your job is done. Press 'E' to take a well deserved rest. Edited by Cocaine on Nov 1, 2010 at 07:55 AM

Stop the reactor from detonating, due to chief.
Keyes stays behind to safeguard the bomb after being mortally wounded by covenant forces. Edited by Cocaine on Nov 1, 2010 at 07:55 AM ftfy and how do you get Keyes to say the first line of the game if he dies? Shouldn't it end like Reach, "Cortana, what I want to know is did we lose them?" "I think we both know the answer to that, captain." To do each, would require wiping the scripts and encounters from each level and redoing it all using the core bsps in each. It wouldn't be that hard from scratch, because you won't be confusing one thing for another. If anyone is actually doing this, I can do some good cutscene camera work. Unrealistic explosions can provide for unrealistic warthog jumping capabilities. (Have a pelican or something come flying in from below and throw it up there.)
