I have always wondered this mainly because all I usually see anymore is tons of BG mods and RPG mods but rarely is there a NEW map released that doesn't use a BSP already seen.

I BSP modeled but I have never released a map. I could definitely do it but especially now I am extremely hard pressed for time. College life is rough. Right now I'm taking a mental health break from my physics lab report which is a good 8 pages long right now. I have a couple of map designs but I never have gotten them even close to being ingame. My best bet is this new project I'm starting on but right now it's only half done and on pencil and paper, and it's been that way for a good week and a half because I've been so busy. I never plan on releasing a box map or a map that is heightmap only. But this may also mean that I may not actually ever release a map, at least not any time soon.

BSP modeling is the way of the past anyway. It's all about modularity now. Not entirely sure how Halo's new engines work but most games now either use something very similar to hammer or are 100% modular sets.

I make all my own bsp's minus my first two maps a million years ago before I knew what I was doing.
Occasionally I reuse parts of campaign maps, but they make halo feel like halo so they count lol

I mean if Bungie goes and says "this IS what the inside of the POA looks like or whatever, I wouldn't expect someone to say "um no I think it should look this way". I think that reusing parts of BSPs where they fit is great just so lang as the new map is legitimately new at least in layout.

I do. I'm starting a dev just for that. When I get a lot of members we will all vote on the dev team name. I create HUGE bsps and im even thinking on releasing sor eof a open source map where all the tags and scripts are packaged together.
