so i made a water fall in my map and i modeled a cave behind it but i get open edge errors if i make the water a plane as i usually do so i made a thin box and it works But you cant walk through it to get to the cave.
Any ideas?

In the material for the waterfall add %! at the end. The % denotes that the faces are double sided so you can see it from both sides (this will get rid of the open edges, but you still won't be able to walk through it). The ! means the faces are render only (no collision/ you can walk through it).
So an example for your material would be: waterfall%!
Note: you do not need the %! in the bitmap, just the material in 3ds/gmax. Edited by Ro0ster on Oct 22, 2010 at 12:58 AM
