I'm modeling a ship and i pretty much have it done but i want a lift like the ones in Coagulation to get to the bridge. How would i do this and how could i make it so that it is more...powerful? i want this to shoot someone up pretty high.

well i mean do i make a cylinder and texture it with the energy bitmap and put a nod at the bottom with the damage effect or when i texture it do i put " ^ " on the end sorta like the ladders to tell the game its like a man cannon?

Didn't find anything on that map. probly need the right name lol
But i just need to know what to do to make the man cannon like so i tell the game what it is via the textures like a ladder? Or do i connect a script to a node or something.

It's not a material name like ladders. Original Halo wasn't meant to have man cannons; but it's still easily possible. Most people do it using a damage effect, but I believe Zteam or H3MT or someone use some sort of vehicle to do it. Is your map single-player or multiplayer?

my map is a multiplayer, i may make a fun little campaign thing later but thats once i get a little better at it. i dont know if a vehicle type man cannon would work, dont think i have enough space in the hallway. Or did you mean just make it as a vehicle but.. it's not? lol

Yeah, like a dummy vehicle that carries you up while you play the airborne animation. You can't actually see this vehicle, but it's there and I guess you could script it so that you automatically get in it if you step in the lift, have it carry you up, and automatically get out when you exit the lift.

well in that case i'd be better off making a piece of moving scenery as an elevator. I mean i'd do that but i dont know the first thing about scripting buttons to press to make it move when you actually want it too. That and i thought the man cannon would look cooler.

if i am to make this dummy vehicle how would i make it so that it will only go up when you step on it instead of moving all the time?

Gravity lift from Teh Lag? I remember that in a test map somewhere.
Also , if they work on the same principle as sandtrap's , you'll be warping everywhere, best if you have a little indent in the ground that is the size of the elevator , so you can't be blown out anywhere but upwards to the indended destination.

Supposedly the vehicle method works best because vehicle positions sync online. Damage effects prevent your shields from recharging and an animated piece of scenery's position wouldn't sync.
