Ok..here's the issue:
I have made a vehicle and i want to add a weapon (not a rocket) that can lock-on to other players. But i can't seem to find any tutorials about how to go about do it. Can someone please explain to me (as clearly as you can be) how to create a weapon that locks-on to the enemy?

Thanks

Adding homing to projectiles
---------------------------
By: ironclad
----------------------------
To add a homing function to your projectile, open guerilla and locate the weapon folder of the weapon you want to mod

Open up the .projectile tag and scroll down to a section called physics.

Here you will find a box entitled guided angular velocity. For most projectiles (all except plasma pistol charge and needler) there will be a zero here.

You can change the number to whatever you want. This causes the projectile to home in on ANY LIVING BIPED OR AI.

*note*: for those attempting to make a halo 2 rocket launcher, with homing that only works on vehicles, this tutorial is not for you. That requires serious scripting.

Guidelines: a needler has 90 for guided angular velocity; keep this in mind when you set your numbers

END OF TUTORIAL.

Your welcome :D

Actually i did not want to say much about this but i have made and put a Halo 3 Missile Pod and i want it to lock on to both AI/Bipeds and Vehicles...is this possible? having it lock on to both? So far it only locks on to Biped and nothing else. Can it lock on to both?

Thanks

Help anyone? Please i really could use some assistance.

Why not? They're both units, aren't they?

That's the thing...i tried to lock on to a Vehicle (who my friend was in) over a LAN connection. and it did not work. and in addition to that...it did not even lock on to him when he was not even in a Vehicle....and he was just walking around. OH..also the vehicle was a Hornet...just if you needed to know.

well if it didn't lock when he wasn't in the vehicle either, vehicles aren't the problem. check that you gave the right file to your friend, so you both have the exact same map file

If they didn't have the exact same map file, the game wouldn't let the client join...lol

hey man, i just test stuff and draw pictures. my only 'scripting' experience in any manner comes from the Halo Mapping Tool for Vanilla Halo, in which others can join your modded map, but can't see the effects or placed objects.

And yes, i do accept the title of n00b with modding. give me WCIII any day, and i will make you a mod of epic proportions.

lol i spent about a year at school making a mod of death island, where there are now covenant battle platforms made of the purple covenant blocks/storage containers. Complete with flag spawns, teleporters, tank (in built-in bunker) and turrets. then, of course, when i finally gave it to all my friends, the admins blocked halo 1 from the LAN server. CE still worked though =)
