Ohai Guys. :D

Ah Halo 1.. The first game I ever really got involved with online. And now that Halo: Reach is coming out, and is the closest of the Halo's to the original, (in my opinion) I want to get it as soon as it hits the shelves.

At first, I was quite adamate about going strait for the Legendary edition, to get my hands on everything I could to do with the game. (Nistalgia ftw?) I was even going to pre-order it from Gamestop to get whatever bonuses they've got. But today I've been thinking.. Is it really worth it to get the Legendary edition? Sure.. I'll probably get Some use out of everything in the box, and the statue looks cool, but hmm..

I guess what I'm asking you guys is this: Do you think that buying the Legendary Edition is kind of like "Selling out" to Microsoft? Would you be just as well off if you went oldschool and bought the regular edition of the game, oldschool because there only was one edition alot of the time back then? Or is a legitimate purchase to go for one of the Special editions?

It costs them 2 dollars to make that statue.
It costs you 50 dollars because that statue is in the "Package".

You can always buy this stuff off of ebay knew in half a year or so for a decent price.
*To the people that say its not 2 bucks to make.. well go look at how things are made in china and how america over price's to sale*.

well if i get one it'll be the halo reach xbox 360 system, 1: because i don't have an xbox, and 2: its awsome.

but i would probably get the regular version because i don't see the point in getting all that extra stuff that comes with legendary and limited editions lol.

I bought Legendary because I passed up the Legendary Halo 3 and now I forever regret it, plus this is the last Halo game by Bungie (as far as we know) so I figured I might as well go all out for the end of the series.

@Joshfighter

I can really see your point there with the cost.. If they are made in China, it probably only did cost a couple of dollars to make them. But honestly.. Isn't that the same with alot of things these days? I'm sure the components that make up an Xbox don't cost that much either.. Especially when produced in bulk. With the whole Ebay thing, I guess it comes down to weather you want to trust someone to hold onto the thing for half a year, or if you'd rather just buy it yourself to make sure you get it mint. Thanks for the feedback. :D

@d4rfnader

That's probably what I would go for as well if I didn't have an Xbox already.. It's pretty sweet looking. And alright.. You don't have a use for it, so you don't want it. Lol

Anyway.. I'm going to be making my decision in the next 20 minutes, (If I decide to pre-order, I can't let it drift past that) So fit in all of the feedback you can guys.

EDIT

@Unevenelefant5

That's the exact stance I have.. I extremely regret not buying the Legendary edition of Halo 3. They had it in stock around here for like.. 9 months after the game came out, and I never went looking for it until it was gone. D: Also the end of the series part.. Halo was my first real game.. So why not go all out to finish it off?

@Slayer117

I just found out about that.. I'm going to have trouble picking what I stick it to. Suggestions?

@MatthewDratt

Wow.. That's some awesome combo. :D You'd also need the wireless headset.. Unless it comes with the Xbox.

@abkarch

If it was an action figure, I wouldn't want anything to do with it. But seeing as it's a statue, I think it'll look good sitting somewhere.

@ihalo

See what I said to Matthew.

I think I'm going to go with the Legendary edition so I won't regret not getting it later. Also, Gamestop is sold out of the Limited edition (Online in Canada, where I am) so I can't buy it and get their little bonus.

do they have any way of letting you know how many heads/limbs have fallen off the statue by the time they put it up?

anyway, why would I want a statue (then again, I can't get the game)? aren't they going to sell action figures anyway (and they're posable instead of joint-less)?

my friend plans to get limited for the officer armour, and I agree with him. paying an extra 50 dollars for a statue (which is kinda sad) and a flaming helmet (it's not like Halo 3's flaming helmet, it's openly distributed to anyone who buys legendary, instead of respectable bungie staff, and you're going to see heaps of people parading around screaming about their flaming helmet and thinking they're unique). The Officer armour looks pretty cool and I think it's worth it.

The statue looks nice, but I'm only getting regular.

On the other hand, I am getting the prestige edition of CoD Black Ops cause you get something that you can actually use, plus zombie maps.

Why would anybody need a crappy made in China statue (you don't seriously believe it's handmade in America) just to depict their fanboyishness?

Seriously though, I would never spend more than 60 dollars on a game after the huge letdown which was RSV2. Which is why I'm getting regular.

And I'm quite sure that RC little car in Black Ops is also made in china.

Regardless I didn't use my money to spend on legendary, my grandparents are awesome :<

I got Halo 3's Legendary edition becuase it actually came with good stuff, not some random statue of 5 characters I don't even know or like. It was also only 100 dollars and came with better stuff then the Reach one. I got limited edition this time, mostly becuase what was in the Reach Legendary edition didn't seem to be worth 150 dollars.

GUESS WHAT I'VE GOT? :D

I'll give you a hint.. I stood in a line for three hours last night to get it at midnight, and it comes in a big box.

The Legendary edition. :D Now I only have two problems. 1) My Xbox is broken, and will remain that way at least until the weekend.. And 2) The big, fancy box the game comes in, which I planned to display the statue on, has a big gash in it I failed to notice when buying it.

You guys think I would be justified in taking it back and getting a box without the gash.. Since I plan on using it? I haven't opened the game yet, so I'm in the clear for returns.

There's no wonder... The guys where I got mine drove the cart-full of Legendary editions into a rack of DVD's, and a bunch of them (Halo, not the DVD's) Toppled over onto the floor. I think I might return it for a better looking box if it's still bugging me by tomorrow.

I don't think having a hole in the packaging will make them change your box for one. I can't see them having a bunch of boxes around.
