I have the same problem with my windows7 PC
My suggestion is that you use a Windows XP computer if you have one.

Right click on the HEK+ shortcut, go to compatibility, and chose 'Disable Desktop Compisition' and set the compatibility to XP SP3. If you do not disable the desktop composition, HEK+ will run with the Aero (non-basic) theme and will appear to function fine. However, as soon as you click on any command or menu, it will cease to work. I have no idea why, but that's how it is. Disabling composition forces the theme into Aero basic, and it should work fine then.

All three of them are wrong, I believe. XP compatibility doesn't really change anything, and in the screenshot, he's already running the program in basic.

i had this problem you need to somehow resize the window i used it on a computer with a higher resolution than mine and then i ported it back to mine.

Its okay now, ill just use my other computer instead since that one works with HEK+
