Ok it's a little bit CE related soooo let's get down to the topic:
Im just wondering that what's the easiest HCE job( Modeling, Animating, Texturing, etc) is there? I kinda thought: Well since Im in the forums, atleast make myself do something instead of just reading posts and replying sooo any suggestions of which SEEMS easy?
I would just like to know about your opinion Thnx! :)

None, it's whatever comes most naturally to you, and that could be any of the three. I model and animate and I find them both equally challenging.

i started modeling first, making maps and such, unwrapping them to defualt textures. did some experimenting with texture making after that (still suck, dont ask me to make stuff), after that learned about AI and scripting, now im somewhat learning a little bit of animation, though i do find it quite challenging.

definitely animating for me, because out of all the stuff I tried (modeling, animating, etc.), animating showed results and progress the quickest.

Well, I have very little expeirence in modelling because I remember doing some models with Blender back in Secondary School but other than that, all I did was rip and make my own maps for PC

so far scripting is what comes easiest to me, one reason is because i can't animate because i can't afford 3ds max lol.

Seriously, make textures. It's a skill you'll most likely use outside of Halo as well. And CE could use textures. All the models and bsps out there are not complete without them.

that's why its harder. u can't really find the ground texture for a map outside now can you. you'd have to draw it (if u use ur way) or make it in paint or photoshop. Edited by darkassassin14 on Aug 19, 2010 at 06:56 PM

Go be a texturer, not much trouble there. You see that crap all the time in the CSS section of FPSB.

Edited by darkassassin14 on Aug 19, 2010 at 11:34 PM You make one big ground bitmap and use an alpha channel to define what parts are one material, and what parts are another material, then you use the detail maps section of the shader_environment to reference a grass detail map or a rocks detail map, etc etc. And then it will blend fine (if you set it up right).

He means that you can put an alpha channel on the ground bitmaps (like blood gulch). It's an extra 'layer' that's in black and white. In the shader tag you can make white and black be different details (like dirt and grass).

I've leraned Texturing many ways its the only thing i can do. Basicaly yes all you do is just drop your picture you took convert it to a tiff and then just drop it where you want it and put it in materials. that was easy
