I miss CE

Hey guys, I have an idea for a stealth like map:

Make it really dark so it's really hard to see other people.
Make a long range radar to detect people easier
Make flashlight a lot brighter so if you can see them, they can also see you as a sitting duck

Try to have to no vehicles but a mongoose should'nt hurt.

Add somewhat large bases with maze-like hallways. Each/Both Bases should have different patterns.

Flashlights don't always sync. If you spam the flashlight as a client, lag should make your flashlight on even if it seems off to others.

I don't think you can change the range of the radar either.

If the map size is bigger than, say, Longest, then it's a fail. Knowing CE servers, there won't be more than 2 or 3 people playing, unless its a really well-made map.

You can. I'm not sure how to on CE, but I used to do it on PC all the time. I edited HUD Globals I think.. so check in there. I used to make my radar reach across all of my maps xD, worked client side too :P

Oh you're right, I just did a quick scan in globals.globals and didn't see anything, but you can change it under "motion sensor range" in ui\hud\default.hud_globals, in the "hud globals" section.

Night Vision would ruin everything about the dark lol. Unless all the bipeds are really hard to see in night vision then maybe.

Well I could see that this wasnt one of those "better" ideas but o well.

Longer range scanners!!! Aren't they long enough???
h2 theres a guy 10 m infront of u and he's not on the tracker
h1 the tracker picks up everything!

Yea I know but a really dark map like the one Hydrogen posted with more objective like feeling and more open space makes the long range scanner work much better. It also adds to the tactical gameplay( no more rushing on your own, well you can but easier to get killed).

I should've said this before but if it is possible, make bullet tracers alot brighter too.

When i get my sapien up and running again i might throw some ai into that map (sharkinthedark). Floods or covenant? Definitely marines

i got a flood verson of it where they make sounds and it is scary when one pops up randomly.

i have my flood ai checked to hear far away (like they do in campaign) and if they see light they go to it (i think thats the ones i had in the version of this)

Covenant please. I hate flood lol. However, if you make a flood version for flood lovers, they'll be grateful too. Custom weapons?
