i was wondering if it is possable some how like maby if you have a 360 that is modded umm well is it possable to some how take some user created modded maps and some how play them on the xbox system?

Yes (mb it is original xbox tho) I have seen a thread about it before.

life You need a softmodded xbox or a JTAG/Flashed xbox. Just convert ce maps with HMVC and shove them in ur maps folder. Also u have to convert AND REPLACE the ce mainmenu, bitmap and shared (loc) maps or ingame everything looks like crap. I played co-op cmt spv2 like this. It eventually crashed tho after a certain checkpoint but probly due to unfinished map (b40)

Changing strings in a .xex file (.exe for xbox basically) it,s fun yesterday I was playing Halo: Reach Forge on Forge World on my JTAG got tons of messages, but it was rly Halo 3 Forge on Sandbox, tricks people tho and I can make it say anything haha, to bad its banned now, JTAGs last like 24 hrs max

The halo 1 on the xbox uses a different format for its map cache.

Yup. A maximum of five years parole for owning a devkit or jtagging your xbox.

I'm sure jtagging is more legal than it is illegal.

A JTAG is a retail xbox with a custom kernel giving it the ability to play unsigned code, or executables for molded games, or custom apps and games built with the Xbox 360 SDK

and u cannot go to jail for 5 years. wtf...

its what hackers use on mw2 and all those mods on halo are made of

i never get why its illegal to customize your 360. i mean you buy it, dont you have the right to do what ever you want with it? Where the hell is our Freedom!

A dev kit is illegal unless you have been authorized.
A jtag is legal but only to the point in which you download games illegally or do any other unauthorized activities.

Don't quote me on that, I've haven't messed with a jtag long enough to know the details.

You buy the hardware you only license the use of the software. You don’t own software. Essentially you rent software for a onetime fee. It is not yours, you don’t own it the copyright holder owns it.

But were talking custom kernels, like a self coded Xbox 360 dashboard and released by the community. but I see how ur coming off, technically is illegal. but rather to be terminated than to go to jail for. devs on the other hand, are a few $800 invite to prison

Editing games code (.map files in Halos case) is illegal either way. Unless authorize with official tools like HEK, but even using Halo Hacker Tools to mod Halo Pc is technically illegal.

i can name one person on this sight that has a dev kit but i wont. anyways i dont see the big deal with jtag except hacking games in match making

well i have a xbox1 version of halo1 moded with 13 new mp maps and new main menu and i put alot of work into it but i lost my hdd it broke and now all i have is the game i was testing on my xbox1 it was basicly finished the only thang i had left to do was swich out one map i didnt like for another i realy did like
anyway i made a disk playable on the xbox360 running ix1.6 at the time!
that console got banned last year!
but i still use it for testing offline right now it just needs a new laser
but i have a question would it be legal for me to even release my moded halo1 disk that works on xbox360 with a moded fw?

this question has gone unanswerd for years thats why i never relesed it in fear of geting sued i know other versions have ben relesed for xbox1 but never for 360 however i found a way to buld the xbox360 disk image just dont know if i should relese it or not? i alredy have enuf problums! with out worying about law sutes!
