when i try to save and leave the game it wont let me start off from my last save and then i have to restart the level all over again can someone shed some light on my problem????

If you have devmode, you can manually type "game_save_toally_unsafe" into console (no quotes) and it will save a checkpoint right where you are. Be careful though, if you save right before a plasma grenade hits you, your out of luck :p
