Is it posseble to replace the ctf flag by an object or biped? Also, is it posseble to have multiple flags on eache team? Meaning if the blue team scores using the red flag that red flag wont respawn but an other red flag will respawn at an other location. Edited by Niels on Jun 18, 2010 at 04:51 PM

OOOHHHHH THIS WAS EXACTLY MY IDEA!!! I TOUGHT I WAS THE FIRST ONE!!! 0.o! ROLF THAT WORKS PERFECT!!! Ok thank you. Now I'm both very happy and very sad. Is there really no way to script that the flag spawns in an other location after a score? And also become an other object / biped after a score? Please people confirm if it's posseble or not and if posseble how to do it. For now I assume it's imposseble.

Isnt there a thing you can edit in the gametype, or is that oddball? As far as different models for the flag, it wouldn't work, since permutations can only be applied to third person models, and not first person models.

But the video shows it works whit a TALKING biped!!!! looks like 1st person to me. Isn't there a way to script these multiple flags?

And sound effects can have permutations in first person. Also no, you can't change the location of it using scripts.

You're making me cry (crying*) Anyway thanks for the advise, however I don't understand this 100% yet. Can someone explain this permutation thing in detail please? So waht I made up from this, you can change the tird person version of the flag so it looks like an object or biped but you can't do that to the first person version of the flag. However you can make it a weapon in first person that looks like an object. I belive the "but that wouldn't work" is referring to the fact the (flag)object would now act as a weapon instead of a flag. I don't get it 100%. Edited by Niels on Jun 20, 2010 at 06:19 PM

Basically all I did was make a new weapon with a marine model and make my own first person animations for it, then I replaced the flag.weapon in the globals tag with the weapon I made. The flag you pick up is technically both I believe, it's an actual .flag tag, but the flag you see in first person is a .weapon tag, which is why you can melee with it and everything. You can change both the first person and third person models of the flag just like you can with any other weapon.

The .flag is actually an ATTACHMENT to the flag weapon. All that determines is that there's two SHADER permutations for the actual flag part of the weapon, which is red or blue based on team. That's what the .flag attachment does.

It also allows the flag to act like cloth, thats why its always flowing in wind. A flag tag can be used for more than just a CTF flag. It can also be used as a cape on a batman biped.

Ah wait a second. So you can't make different flag models for each team? (I see to much limitations here...)
