Is it possible to use 3ds max 2011 to create stuff for halo CE or do i need to have max 5? if anyone can answer please do.

you can use 11. you just have to use bluestreak instead of blitzcrieg for exporting

how do i get tool++ to find the JMS file?

you dont need tool++
just use classic tool with cmd
and for JMS extractor dl it on halomaps.org (bleu streak extractor)
you have to convert .max file to .jms with bleu streak script
in my part 3ds max 8 it's perfect
in 9 10 11 the "flip" fonction dont work correctly

ok i get the jms file and everything but i cant seem to figure out the tool command to make a model out of it.

Ok, im actually trying to make vehicles/weapons/bipeds and stuff like that but when i tell Bluestreak to export the model it says Warning: there was no geometry to export. and when i tell tool or tool++ to create a model out of it, it says
### Newshee.jms
### ERROR there must be at least one region.
### ERROR failed to import geometry 'Newshee.jms'.
Couldn't read map file './toolbeta.map'

make a new box, name it frame, select the level, use the link tool, and drag the level to the frame (linking it)

ok i did that and now im getting
Runtime error: mesh operation on non mesh.
what does that mean?

did you convert your model to an editable mesh before exporting? you need to.

The whole thing or just part of it, i tried the whole thing and got
--no get function for undefined.
what did i do wrong now?

That A tricky one. I think it may have something to do with the bitmaps/shaders, but i can't remember right now.
