Im trying to make a halo3 assault rifle, ive got the model done but it keeps acting weird ingame... No matter what i do with the shaders and bitmaps it always has these problems: It either goes all weird like this: (3ds max also does this when i have hardware shading turned on) http://img441.imageshack.us/i/pic1qq.png/or it has weird random colour differences like this: (mainly on the top of the ar and on the grip) http://img443.imageshack.us/i/pic2r.png/can someone tell me whats causing this? I think the 1st one is because the collision is smaller than the model, maybe.

Can the collision affect the shaders?

I dont think its affecting the shaders as much as it affects what is rendered. I could also be completely wrong on that.
I had that exact problem before and all i can remember doing maybe to fix it was scaling up the collision model. Edited by Maniac1000 on Mar 18, 2010 at 07:27 PM

Are you using the FP as the GBX Model in the first pic?

No, im using 3P in both pics... Another problem is that when tool compiles the bitmaps it makes it look lower quality and sketchy in places
Edit: I figured out the first pic was an alpha problem, so i took out the alpha, but i still get the problem in the second pic how the colours dont match properly Edited by Gravemind on Mar 19, 2010 at 06:36 AM
