I'd like to get some feedback on a new map I've been working on...

A video and some pictures and video can be viewed at my new forum...

I actually almost made a new map for this, based on a concept of mine, but i stopped working on it. That map is pretty small, i suggest making different levels (vertical wise). Almost like Deimos from UT3:

Coincidentally, I thought about making a map like Deimos for CE, with the same layout and stuff.

As it's a remake of a stock map, I'll be using the stock weapon set.

I actually think it looks a bit nicer than stock Derelict. Nice!

That said, it wouldn't hurt if you tried to add more detail. The simple, clean look is good, but some spots, like the hallways, look a bit bland.

I'm gonna be running a beta version on my 'dedi' server over the weekend.

You can download the test map from my filefront page... http://www.filefront.com/15806273/bc_carousel_beta_mp.zip

The server IP is 212.187.247.109:2302

I'll be running various gametypes. Pop along and then let me know your views.

Floor tiles are tiled a bit too small in my opinion but overall I love the map! Nice texturing. I wonder how the top will work with the overall gameplay. Would have to test with more people.

agreed takes at least 8 people to test a small/ medium map. unless you know how to make good AI and test it

You can have lots of fun with AI, but they won't discover as many bugs / gameplay issues as humans will.

Is this really something you have to ask?

It takes more effort to open up IE, wait for the page to load, find the topic, type out the question, and wait for a response than it does to double click the shortcut to HEK+ and then double click the .map :V
Also not to mention it takes about 10x as long too.

I'm more inclined to ask why you ask your question. It's protected.

Thanks for all the comments, positive or otherwise.

Can someone tell me why some people are unable to see the plasma shaders?

People with old computers. Simple as that. Run halo in -ff mode to see what your map looks like on their computers.

I've uploaded this map to halomaps. Just waiting for a link now.

I'll be running it with several gametypes on my server 'Black Crypt's CE Server' (212.187.247.109:2302) for a few days if you want to try it out.

Looks alright, im not to keen about the visual style though. Probably could of made it a bit more prettier, added some more lights, etc.

In my opinion, it looks exactly like it's supposed to - a lonely outpost in the middle of space. Pretty takes a back seat to playability and compared to the map it's based on, it's a big improvement.

You can now download this map from http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=5215
