it is a great combo :D.. the laser is for hipfire and for the zoom the laser isnt there so the red dot is. i still have to find out how to do it correctly :P

also is the UNMT ma5k going to be used you know the one that had a lazer on it and he wanted to put a scope and i said ill send you a red dot sight?
im still waiting for the volcano map slasher :P we could use santuary bases but we extrude the main back part into a room.

my biggest issue with that map is that I would like to finish it, but I have not the cliff modeling abilities, but I suppose Hydro can take care of that. The real issue is I don't have any idea what to do for bases. I suppose if ppl have good ideas for bases of a volcano surrounded by cliffs, I am open to suggestions.

Btw for lava killing, Im not sure if it would work but in a scripting program i saw you can make it so when a player walked into the Tvol a mine went off and killed them, we could make the explosion invisble? Idk just a random thought there.

U already made the scripts for the lava opening? Sweet! For lava lower than the rest of the map though, couldn't you use a death plane? the top of the volcanoe is lava and no hole. also you said you were going to add caves like you did for my map snowy_pit... i like the sniper cliff :D

Well, as for that map, It's next on the agenda, after this.. The terrain needs tons of work still as is obvious. Nothing is smoothed yet especially on that one side because another structure will be going in somewhere near there.Also, I am not really sure how to do a good terrain texture. Does anyone know if there is a tutorial that relates to terrain texturing and also perhaps terrain modeling? Last, this a question to anyone really who knows a bit about shadering. I got a weapons box that I want to make look like my render but I am not sure how to do much with scenery shaders and how to bump it or fakebump or whatever. This is what I want it to look like basically

The smoothing in the first pic on the structure looks bad tbh. The bases look pretty blocky too, although I like the design. I always have liked Valhalla's bases. I would suggest watching this tutorial because I found it very helpful and it taught me a good deal about Forerunner stuff: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=4504

I never did like that top and I was going to change it actually. I had a different idea but I like yours a lot better. Oh and about the ground, I sor tof have plans to make this map have even less grass, I want some small areas with small live grassy tufts, but I really wanted it to have dead grass in a few areas and a lot of dirt, sort of like it was the brunt of some excavation and never really was able to grow very lush at all. Here's some crit on the BSP:
Its pretty bland. Try creating more interesting rock geometry rather then having these large up and down cliffs with little to no variation. The ground is also pretty bland, it could use some small hills and other variation. The easiest way to make good looking changes fast is by using the cut tool, try it.
The structures are also lacking in nice looking angles and interesting geometry. Try taking some of Elefants advice. If you want me to take a look at the BSP for a better look, contact me on xfire : higuy5

To be added Falls/river some large rocks near the cliffs making something like valhalla caves some interior forerunner tunnels going almost all the way to each base and probably some other undecided variances in the geometry

Yeah that is about how I am envisioning it. Also, I am thinking the river will have some good rock cover. I always loved how halo maps with rivers never seem to have much rock cover at least on one side. I sort of want to model it a little more realistic with corners having the outside edge a little raised and undercut. I believe this will simulate reality a bit better and provide cover from certain areas. This is going to be a bit tough I think though since the terrain i had originally was made to 1. Keep spawn-to-spawn sniping out 2. Focus a bit around a KOTH or assault style gametype Making it really good for slayer was not my biggest concern in the map, but with the new updates we are going to make to the terrain, it should be great for slayer when we are finally done.
BTW, did anyone have a thought on the names we had posted? :P I know we should really chose for ourselves, but we would like to at least know if you think something sounds like it has just been overused or if something doesn't seem to fit the map right.
