I like how you named one of the vehicles after yourself.

I'm not an expert modeler but I know there's something wrong with that mp40.
Someone go into detail?

The MP40 needs alot of work.. it seems like a shapeless blob at the moment.
Overall, it's way too high-poly. Use reference images, and try to keep the vertecies flowing proper, they're a jumbled mess right now, as you can see on the back of the gun, which looks more like a point than a rounded-off butt. It seems like you just moved vertecies around until it vaguely resembled the shape of an MP40.
The way I go about modeling anything like a gun, grab as many pictures of it as you can from all different sorts of angles, put them all in a single folder, and get your model as closely shaped to it as possible. I haven't attempted anything as complex as an MP40 or anything yet, and it probably wouldn't turn out too well.
You've got potential, and it seems you're putting forth a lot of effort. Put a little more effort into learning how to model and it'll help alot in the longrun. Look up a some weapon modeling tutorials and learn some tricks to help you accomplish what you're aiming for. Edited by Marka Haiyana on Jan 12, 2010 at 08:26 PM

In all fairness I said be constructive but no one can just f^%$kin say "good job or hey not bad, keep practicing your getting better?? Sorry but yea I'm pi$$ed I have worked really hard and for what? more humilliation? why is it people are automaticly rude before they are kind? Hum? Thanks agian for the tutorial redirection, I am currently hammering thru another and they are pretty much the same. Basics and no advanced technics. I have been working on models fo 8 months off and on and am getting better, but have done this all on my own and with great crit from alot of people here. Let me say that I was curious to see what kind of stuff you all put out and some of you should probably take your own advice and "take the tutorials yourself" My work is somewhat way better then some here and more original then most ,as far as I can see. Thank you for the "single" compliment of talented effort
marka, THANK YOU for the kudos and yes I am taking these tutorials. advacebo uneven xel ninjadude and a few others thanks for the constant help and direction.
And don't tell me " If you don't want the truth than don't put it out there" I thought I was going to be apart of something pretty cool, but, some here can not just be polite.
Thanks to the entire 4 people that downloaded the map and actually looked at the models. I truley appreciate honesty-- I just thought that people might be at a point were they would just, for once,. say good job. F%$#@kin Peace all
Just a thought. Try the compliment sandwich by, Stewie Griffin. something good, something bad, something good:) Edited by xsnoder on Jan 13, 2010 at 08:38 AM Whoa chill out dude he didn't mean to be rude at all, you took that completely the wrong way. He actually gave you REALLY good criticism AND advice on how to improve. He was actually ALOT nicer than most people are when they see this kind of thing. Your being WAY to sensitive to criticism which is normal for newer members on this site. I know you obviously worked hard on this and you get an A for originality in my opinion, but you do need to improve some. I don't know if your were trying to make a full complete map or if you were just showing your work but if its the first one then you need to work on your map modeling because it doesn't look very good for gameplay. By the way you said any and all constructive criticism is welcome, that includes negative criticism as well. Edited by wesman on Jan 13, 2010 at 03:15 PM

Hey man, don't get angry. You made a MAP! You know what that means? That means you did something that half of this community, myself included cannot be bothered to find the time, or skills to do. seriously +rep for that. Also it's your first map, so it's obviously not gonna be amazing, no matter how talented you are. You have great potential, and don't let the high standards of this site get you down.

I like the vehicle design, and you're better than a lot of people starting out, like mookz said, keep practicing and you'll get the hang of stuff pretty quickly.

sorry guy's for the anger, I was haveing a moment and lost sight of the whole thing. I really appreciate the kind words and the understanding. I will definitly keep on practicing and take full advantage of the great knowledge here. I really do appreciate the constructive. crit, and I do understand he was bieng nicer then most , like I said, "just haveing a moment" thanks for the originality thing. I have been an artist my whole life and have followed Frank Frezzeta style of art. FantasyFuturistic\primeevil thing retro? not for shur, Frank Frezzeta was an amazing artist and a legend. check out this mans history and you'll see what I am talking about http://www.frazettaartgallery.com/ff/index.htmlBe sure that you read his biography. Star wars and many other land mark fantasy \space adventures were mimiced or inspired by his art work. Edited by xsnoder on Jan 14, 2010 at 09:52 AM

Xsnoder. AWESOME man! Besides the textures I think it looks great. You did your own thing and released it unlike most of the people here. My advice- Do your own thing. You will get better, just don't let the god awful community hold you back. Take their crit, but ignore their actual personalities.
