It's easy to rip the models, use entity, which you can find on google. The hard part is getting everything else done (bitmaps, animations, shaders, collision, etc)

bitmaps arent that hard bro. theres a halo2 bitmap ripper in the h2v section of the site.

All that does is extract bitmaps from the "bitmap" tags from the halo 2 vista editing kit.

You can use Entity to rip most bitmaps from halo 2 xbox maps.

Wait, I thought it was harder to rip from h2v since they don't use .map files.

Yeah, I know, but you still gotta do everything else.

Because you can only get the bitmaps that are included with the H2V editing kit. Either through extracting from the bitmap tags, or just screen grabbing from the H2V Guerilla. Any other bitmaps have to be extracted through Entity or something from H2 Xbox maps.
Also only a few H2V bitmaps are higher res.

In my opinion ADI is best for ripping models from halo 2 (xbox) because it doesn't screw up with the texture coordinates. ADI can be downloaded here http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?vymojttoznl .

But then ADI doesnt export the materials on a model very well. There all turned to Material #1.

If you didn't know how to get things from h2 why would you possibly want the flood bipeds model parts? I doubt you can do anything with them.

You would then have to UVW
and rig the model.

I always come back after a week or two of being gone and I keep on finding another "how to rip H2 topic" sigh

Not that easy. Even if you get the BSP, you'll have to fix up the errors in it.

^^Whats the point? Make them yourself, dont be lazy. And the fact that they arent even the same type of shader that Hce uses might be a TINY problem, no?

Which is probably one of the reasons Halo Two looks so much better than the original Halo.

If you have the model and the bitmaps from halo 2, thats all you really need. I mean, Animation is probably not going to be easy, but seeing as how its done all the time and a halo two animation is most likely anything but compatible. You could probably rip the sounds, else use halo CE sounds.

Models, bitmaps, sounds, are easily extractable. It IS possible to extract animations, as CAD posted. However, it isn't that hard to recreate Halo 2 animations (their style isn't exactly beautiful :x).

Which is why we improve things. Exitus Acta Probat.

I'm getting curious why anyone wants the Halo 2 Flood anyway. They look just as ugly.
