hey all, i have a problem, after like 10 - 30 minutes of gameplay, halo crashes and it says: a problem occured initializing direct3D. Hardware acceleration maybe disabled, please run DXDIAG, it didn't do this when i first played halo custom, plz help me fix these crashes Edited by Ember5050 on Dec 16, 2009 at 09:20 PM

Post the exact error. It's kinda hard to help you if we don't know exactly what's wrong.

Do the textures in the game start to glitch out before this error? Also, have you updated your drivers, and can you post your graphics card?

Might help There is some really good info at the microsoft site gamma posted. My ati card started conflicting (9200 radeon) a long time ago. Fixed with ati (agp or pci e ,don't matter) hd 3650 1gb and "Ati caytalyst drivers" not the regular visiontek drivers. The old card worked great for awhile but after a year or two it really started messin with the direct draw. had to pull the card and actually had to reinstall the drivers for the onboard as well.
