What did they do to the assault rifle :x

I hated it when I first saw it, but now it has grown on me, and I quite like it. Same goes for the HUD, and the ellevation radar is cool.

lo res scans are lo res.

Also how do you know it shows elevation? All I see I see is the "25m" which about every radar in Halo has.

It's somewhere is the Edge magazine, it's also pretty obvious when looking at the radar.

What Jackals? Those things are Skirmishers, a cousin to the Jackal.
And according to Halopedia, the phantoms were first introduced in 2531.

I managed to pick up a copy of Edge today, so feel free to ask questions.
What I thought was interesting in it was that far off battles will be automated, scripted affairs with low res textures and few polys at a distance. Get closer and they become "real" AI.

that AR is starting to grow on me as well, lol

Every time I see that ar, I want to whack it against a tree/jorge ingame and get that blocky ammo counter thing inline with everything else.

the elite looks horribly cartoony compared to the rest of the covenant forces.. ugh.

I have another idea, you pay for it.

I believe that, if your going by the ebgames pictures, is concept art.

Lol, you can buy it on its own, it's $4 AU, and EDGE is approx $10 AU. I'm picking up my copies of both in the comming days.

If you don't know what AU is in currecy, you abviously didn't make it past the second grade. As for EDGE, it's the other Magazine covering Reach.
