Well, I would be making a good(by my opinion) mod by now, but I don't really have anybody capable of modeling/animating since I barely know anything about it, and there aren't much tutorials out there, either.

I have concepts for some weapons, and since I don't have one yet, could someone make a tropical sort of BSP, it should be big and linear, for SP and not MP, and no Forerunner stuff? No Covenant stuff either, please.

This is the internet, there are thousands of tutorials if not more... you only need the barret tutorial which you can find a link to of modacity by searching "plane modelling".

Learn to model your self, then you have someone capable of modelling the concepts. :)

That's the point. Thousands of tutorials means making it harder to find one about a single topic. Oh well, off to Modacity. Which is a place I've never been before.

Uhh, wouldn't that make it easier because there are more tutorials to choose from and you can find one specific to your needs?

It may be counterintuitive but think of it this way. What would be easier: Looking for a needle in a haystack or looking for a specific needle in a haystack sized pile of similar looking needles?

Yes, but finding rare tutorials will be harder. It's like 1111111011, where you could easily find 1, but it'd be harder to find 0, if we would express it in files.

Whatever he said.

And, as more people make tutorials, it'd be like adding those similar looking needles at a higher rate than putting in more of that specific needle. My guess: around a 4-5:1 ratio of tutorials being made.

Look for the "how to model a basic human map" by ThePlague on this site. It will basically tell you how to decently model a level, although the more difficult stuff (which include geometry errors) are not included. You can find those by typing in "Geometry Errors tutorial" in the search bar.

Don't be scared of Modacity. Do be warned though they are a lot less directed in what they want to do but hey I'll help you out if you want some advice on getting what you want out of it.

If: people on modacity don't hate each other and argue pointlessly, then Modacity>Halomaps
people on modacity are worse than people here, then Halomaps>Modacity
people here are better at CE stuff than on modacity, then Halomaps>Modacity

Yeah... no. The quality churned out from maps made by people that visit modacity regularly is astronomically higher than the quality from people who regularly visit modacity. (This is discounting people who visit both sites regularly)

Well, Modacity definitely has a much friendlier community... probably because spammers and pointless posters are taken care of much more harshly than they are here.

Still, the community does have it's problems. Same could be said for any community, really.
