Well for one, the 'Couldn't read map file './toolbeta.map'' should be there. Do you remember what you did last in sapien before you started getting this and the freezing? |

Doesn't necessarily mean it's Vista... When I began mapping, I was on a Vista, dual core computer.

Hardly. I find Windows 7 to be much faster than both XP and Vista.
