I need a way to make volumetric clouds or a way to fake volumetric clouds.

I thought of mapping a fog texture to a sphere inside the skybox, but I get bad stretchig when I do that. Also, if I map them to a plane parralax makes it looked f-ed up.

Does anyone know of a good way to make nice clouds either in a skybox or the bsp (but prefferably scenery). Also, I also need names of maps that exhibit very nice skyboxes (wth clouds) so that I may rip and analyze how it was done.)

thanks in advance.

*by the way, this IS for H3MT Narrows.

Read your pm's
If you want to study something then import the bloodgulch.sky and look at its geometry and study its shaders (especially the self animation section).

i fake volumetric lights by modelling the lightrays and cleverly texture it, with some special shader techniques and some scrolling dustparticles in it it'll look very real,

but as far as my knowledge goes, you'd be better off texturing it on a plane with alpha channel and scroll it, i dont see how volumetric clouds would be possible in BAMF.

if you actually want clouds you can view at all angles, you'd be better off modelling it and go dbz style lol

e1: but wait, maybe if you make overlapping fog portals? that way it fakes the form of it because of overlapping it, but still have a rough shape because of the gradient borders

bgclouds aren't volumetric...

I never said they were.
But thanks for your contribution.

Why not make a custom sky with oblong animated Geo-spheres with no collision and then place fog planes inside them?
