Hello. I'm a new user here, and i'm also on http://halo2.filefront.com/. I have posted a Wallpaper pack here, but it isn't released on here. The wallpaper is on FileFront already (Thankfully) and here's the link: http://halo2.filefront.com/file/HaloVistas_HaloCE_Wallpapers;104161
Happy? So now onto ProjectMODS.
I'm the leader of this team. (I made it of course) and no one has joined this clan yet. i've posted on FileFront already and no luck. Anyone is free to join this clan, just ask me. and i'll private message you or e-mail you. BUT, this entire team was mostly used for HaloPC mods but for sake goodness, I have made a HaloCE area now. So you can MOD maps onto HaloCE, I also made HaloCE Section because alot of people have Custom edition. If you wish to mod HaloPC, this is not a law. so if you worry about what will I use to mod? well, I have a link for Halo SparkEdit. SparkEdit is ONLY a HaloPC Modder. I have no news HaloCE Sparkedit. because that's fake. If you want HaloCE mapping, get Halo Editing kit. if you want HaloPC Modding, Get Halo SparkEdit. This clan also has a xfire option, but really not needed. You also make your OWN things for the clan on xfire. Know why? I don't have xfire, and don't ask something stupid like Get xfire then, because i'm never getting it. Here's the link for my wallpaper and SparkEdit:

Kinda long, huh? I'm on HaloCE alot, so I dunno if i'm ever on PC. My username for HaloCE/PC is =PD=Vista.

This is a Halo Custom Edition forum. 9/10 of the users here (who make maps) use HEK.

Bloodgulch mods are too common. As fun a map as it is, try modding something like rat race or damnation.

I agree. Not only are haloPC mods worthless, but everybody is sick of bloodgulch mods.

It is very simple, no one cares about bloodgulch mods, I don't think you need more information than that to understand one isn't worth the effort, but anyways...

Bloodgulch mods are basically the most popular mod on the game, people take gulch and put in random vehicles, AI, and scenery and release it. It isn't original, it isn't very fun. The Blood Forest mod is not new and has been done more than once

No, it's not. My third map, I think, was a Blood Gulch mod, with lots of trees, rocks, and fog.

Well, my other forest one was messed up. not enough trees, vehicles messed up, everything. only Blue base was great. red base was entirely messed up.

[Edit] Rat Race can't be modded. there aren't enough stuff to mod. sorry.
[Edit} omg. I need ideas on what to mod. I'm trying to mod singleplyer maps, but they're too big to mod. Help me!

Dont mod existing maps. Learn to use the hek and it will feel much better when you make a map by yourself.

I, by my self, im proud my first map wasnt a BG mod, but actually a custom map :) (even tho i didnt know how to set up the shaders haha)

I don't use HEK because I don't have 3ds Max. I only use Halo SparkEdit to mod HaloPC maps.

You don't NEED 3ds max in order to use HEK. Sapien is basically SparkEdit on steroids. There are so many things you can do in Sapien that you can't do on SparkEdit. List:

1) Compile scripts (used for single player maps)
2) Add AI
3) Set up cutscene points and titles
4) Set player starting profiles (What the player starts off with)

Oh, I don't know. Maybe HEK COMES with tags? Maybe you can download several of the many tags on Halomaps? Maybe you can extract them from other maps using HEK+?

Run the installer. Then, in your Halo Custom Edition folder, there will be a few new programs, mainly Sapien.exe, Guerilla.exe, and tool.exe. The only reason you need 3ds max is if you're planning to model or animate, and you can make maps without modeling or animating.

you should really know what your talking about before you start refering to others as idiots, because in most cases, you would be the actual idiot, just like this case. And you know, basicly all tags are irrelevent to max.. lol, gbxmodel, model_animation, collision_geometry, and structure_bsp are the only things that are max relevent, but if your planning to do what your currently doing (just modding) then you wouldnt need any form of max.

Guerilla is like HHT and HMT, but far more powerful. HHT and HMT modify tags, but Guerilla can modify, AND create new ones.

Guys! Who wants to join this Project to make/mod maps? if so, ask the following:

I have/don't have Halo SparkEdit
I have/Don't have Halo Editing Kit
I have/don't Have HaloCE/PC
I want to join this project.

If you don't have SparkEdit, it's in the first post. Getting HaloCE is optional, but HaloPC is NEEDED. also HEK is optional, but it's for HaloCE Mapping.

Welcome to the forums, now go download Gmax (if you want to create any new geometry objects), download the HEK, HEK+ and start creating new maps, bitmaps, effects, weapons or w/e.
This is a Custom Edition forum, we take nothing to do with HPC here.
Just because you think your maps are awesome does not mean we do.
And read the stickied topics in both General Discussion and Technical Discussion.
