somting that is a pain in the neck for me is when sapien wont load a scenario file.
what the hell
why does it do that even tho it isnt courrupt or anything wrong with it it just crashes

can anyone tell me what is wrong and how to fix it

Check your debug.txt file located in the Halo Custom Edition folder. Copy the last paragraph, and paste it here.

Missing these tags. Extract them from the original campaign.

HEK+. Open the map, find the tag. Right click it, extract, or something like that. Check "Extract recursively", and "Use original folder names". Click the "Use Registry" button. Then, extract.

Some button / checkbox names may be different than shown, because I typed this from memory.

all i do for this is rip every single campaign map in halo, but do not use the "overwrite tags" function. It always works.

Sapien would not open cause i need to add specific tags that were missing and that was causing sapien to not open. so i just extracted the tags i needed and put them in the right folders or the right place using HEK+ and BAM! SUCCESS!

You have to REPLACE an existing vehicle in the globals.globals. You can't have more than 6.

Yea. globals.globals has the 6 default vehicles defined by default.

what happens if you put in to make hud messages:

tool hud-messages levels\noremorse zombie escape

and tool just gives u the crap it does when u put in tool alone PLZ HALP ITS BEEN AN OLLLDD PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is zombie escape your scenario name? Type:

tool hud-messages levels\noremorse "zombie escape"

i found a few mistakes but i have many more errors first thing it was zombie-escape lol sry
and it was in the test folder (im so dumb) so this is how it looks now after i fixed it

tool hud-messages levels\test\noremorse zombie-escape

now the thing that came out was

couldn't read map file './toolbeta.map

can anyone give me a correct versoin of my command i think i messed up somewhere

ok heres what happened i saved hud-messages.hmt as allfiles and i put it on unicode then i typed this in

tool hud-messages levels\test\noremorse zombie-escape

and i still got the cant read map toolbeta.map thing again whats it susposed to look like? and whats the command u usually use?

You save it as "hud messages.hmt". With a space, not a dash.

done that recently. still no cigar got anymore suggestions this is how it went


saved as hud messages.hmt in haloce/data/levels/test/noremorse/zombie-escape

now the command i put in was

tool hud-messages levels\test\noremorse zombie-escape

no cigar........what does it say when you do it lol and how can i fix it

You put it into data\levels\test\noremorse\zombie-escape. If zombie-escape is your .scenario name, you need to put it in the noremorse folder, and not create a new one called zombie-escape.

so your saying i have to make a new folder? the only things i ahve in my noremorse folder rihgt now is.. scripts folder and hud messages.hmt and hud-messages.hmt can i has a more detailed walkthru lol

I'm saying you SHOULDN'T, because I was under the impression that zombie-escape was your scenario name. If that's not it, then put your SCENARIO name for the tool command.

Ok. Give the exact scenario name, and the location of the scenario file. You're confusing us here. Is zombie-escape the name of your scenario file? If so, then do what I said earlier, and drag it out of the zombie-escape folder.

scenario name: zombie-escape [loacation]: Tags\levels\test\noremors

hud messages.hmt: [location]: Haloce directory\data\levels\test\noremorse

notes: there isnt a zombie escape folder and my scenario is where it should be in the tags\levels\test directory see if you guys can halp lolz
