hey guys
I have a command list where I tell my ai to shoot at 2 points that are a pretty good distance away, and when I run the command, the ai just kindof looks around.
it seems to me like there are a bunch of places this could go wrong, has anyone else had better luck with this?

oh also, if there is a command point behind an ai and I tell him to go to it, he wont turn around and go to it he just turns as far as he can towards it without moving his feet. I dont know if this is because I am attaching bipeds to ai encounters instead of using actors or what.

any light that can be shed on this wierdness would be much appreciated

Is this a situation where you must use command lists (cutscenes), or is this like in the middle of combat?

Your second paragraph sounds like your using the look command. Did you link the command list to the ai properly? Also, the command lists usually don't work until you restart sapien (after putting it in the ai's parameters.)

Just a basic thing, call me a nagger but did you put ai_attach and ai_command_list in the right order?

AI cannot go to points behind them.

Before you tell the AI to shoot or throw a grenade with a command list, you have to enable targeting. If you don't want to allow targeting for the command list, then you can enable it temporarily with the "targeting" command just for the shots, i.e.:

targeting enable
shoot at (p0) for 2 seconds
targeting disable

Also, because of the max shooting distance specified in the actor_varient of the AI, they might not shoot at points that are too far away.
