How do you increase the speed of a vehicle in Halo CE? I'm trying to increase the speed of your basic warthog and rocket warthog on my map.

The speed isn't very user-friendly.

That's because it's in Halo units/tick, where one tick is 1/30th of a second.

Just multiply the speed by 30 and you'll get it in Halo units/second.

If you want real-world speeds, then here's a complete conversion breakdown:

Distance:

1 Halo Unit = 10 feet

Time:

1 Second = 30 ticks

So, if that's the case, then:

1 Halo Unit/second = 10 feet/second
10 feet/second = 600 feet/min
600 feet/min = 36,000 feet/hour
36,000 feet/hour = about 6.82 MPH

1 Halo Unit/tick = 30 Halo Units/second
30 Halo Units/second = 300 feet/second
300 feet/second = 18,000 feet/min
18,000 feet/min = 1,080,000 feet/hour
1,080,000 feet/hour = about 204.55 MPH

So, the only part you need to care about really is:

1 Halo Unit/second = about 6.82 MPH

And

1 Halo Unit/tick = about 204.55 MPH

Gotta love math.

although, when you put the speed above 1, it begins to decrease. i think. it seems to, anyhow.

I think I know why it seems to slow down. You notice that the engine sound takes longer to accelerate? Well, if that's why, then it's because the acceleration hasn't been changed, but the max speed has. So, it takes longer for the vehicle to reach its top speed, making it sound like its slower.

But no, it does get faster. The longswords in Hugeass are set to 1, and the jets are set to 4. The jets are way faster.

Yeah, you're right, it barely moves at first. Then, if you keep flying for a while, it slowly accelerates up to speed. But I had to fly all the way across hugeass just for it to gain speed.

There must be a speed limit of some sort, because I slowed down the jet all the way down to 1, which is the same speed as the LS and it still flew faster than the LS. There really wasn't a difference between 4 and 1, so most likely 4 is just slowed down to the speed limit. The speed limit is probably around 1.5 or so.

You can also change the acceleration, dont forget that.
