Use testmy.net, speakeasy.net/speedtest, or speedtest.net.

When hosting a halo server, people seam to have very low pings, and have no problems with lags.

My internet got better now, we put a password on our wireless router, so now the damn neighbors aren't using out internet ^_^

I don't lag on other people's games, but some people did complain about lag on my servers. Of course, I never actually host anymore.

A lot of the time, server lag has to do with the geographical location of the server and the client, and not just ISP. The closer the server is to you, the lower your ping.

Oh and CE always has terrible lag, my pings on it are usually in the 100's... 50's if I'm lucky.
However, Halo PC, pings stay in the 20's to 60's on nearby/good servers. And on Source games, my ping stays at at 8-20's. Then again, on all these games, I tend to pick servers that have lower pings in the list and are geographically closer.

That "optimizer" will do nothing, your connection speed is limited to what your ISP provides. Nothing you do in the Windows registry will do anything to change that. It may make it easier for Windows to connect, but it will not improve your connection speed.

5/5 don't need to run tests, with 2000 kbs down and 1500 up i'm fine, ping is really low all the time

i ran the optimiser and here's the result:

Server A:

upload:0.46

Server B:
download:8.15
upload:0.47

Server C:
download:8.40

Before, Average:
download: 7.06
upload: 0.47

After, Average:
download:8.20
upload:0.47
