I hope not. When I want to play Team Fortress, I'd play Team Fortress, not Halo.

I think he means "insanely good", like Team Fortress 2.

I was wondering what he meant, because Team Fortress is highly stylized and Bungie and Halo tend to try to go more realistic. Each iteration of the game engine they have been attempting to add more realism to the graphics. Team Fortress has gone a more artistic direction.

I thought he meant in terms of more team based gameplay because I heard TF2 is based on sticking together and such.

It is a team based game with 9 classes of players. Each class has a different look and a different set of weapons and capabilities. Although team based and playing AS a team is beneficial it is not a requirement of the game and it still allows for lone wolf style of game play.

For a real team game play game you would want Left 4 Dead which actually requires you play as a team or you all lose. Lone wolfs get killed and get others killed.

I am not sure what Bungie has in store for Reach but I suspect that it may not be as team based as L4D but could be class based likeTF2. We will have to wait to see. I most likely won't be playing it since I don't play console games. I am an old school PC gamer.

I also meant the strategic permutations. If the Spartans on the cover mean anything to multiplayer, than it might mean that there are different classes of spartans to play as, such as Sam with heavies and Kelly with scouting, or Linda with sniping.

Sam is not heavies. That would be Grace.

And I heard something about Reach being similar to Star Wars: Republic Commando.

ODST reminded me of Republic Commando, since the visors are so similar in their function where it outlines teammates.

I am going to spend my money on the game a few months after its release, another Halo FPS wont be as fun without MC......
Same goes for Halo: Reach FPS.... (might be MC, but I could care less).

Oh, and as for reserving it, no, I will be spending my money on a military simulator, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. ^_^

Simulator games of any kind suck.

And you say ODST won't be as fun because you don't play as a Spartan? That's stupid. You don't know how fun it will be, because you have not played it, because it is not out yet.

Great point mate. Halo 3 ODST is also goin' to be much like Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six. The key is stealth.

Operation Flashpoint allows you to do more than ODST or any of the Halo games, including this one.....It has a map editor, (for PC it has the stock editor, and a downloadable one to make maps), it comes with, for any console, even PC, over 50 weapons, 50 characters, and 60 vehicles, also, the maps are larger than coldsnap and hugeass combined =P.

The graphics in the game is a lot better too, its very realistic, and has a very long and intense, choose-your-own-path, campaign.....and the ability to control your own NPC troops...

And you can download other peoples maps too....Thats the small part of the game....but as for not liking military simulators...its an opinion....

I don't like all the features, but its still fun....its basically a mix of Halo Custom Edition, Call of Duty, SOCOM, and Ghost Recon.

I like commanding Tanks and snipers at the same time, from a distance, to take out a base =P.
I sit back with night vision goggles, and binoculars, and give the NPC and few online friends playing with me, orders to get the job done right. ^_^

Well this is Halo your talking about. Halo ODST. Op Flashpoint is a cross between Far cry and Dead rising. Its a squad based tactical shooter in an open world that requires you to do a task by oh lets say 9 P.M. Thats Dragon Rising. ODST is a Golden quality FPS that has a unoticable linear path that has a Story.

In other words as I do with every other 2010 game Its a wait and pray policy For all we know. It may be an FPS but not neccasarily what kind. It might be the Halo we all know and love.It might be a Tactical shooter. maybe a squad Based. But all i know is it is one of those games that are being Milked by Microsoft and Bungie not exactley a pure milk yet but its just the cream.

Not what I meant, but okay....and Operation Flashpoint, any of them, have stuff like the "get here by 9:00pm. current time: 3:00am. distance to travel: 1,500mi.", but it also has it without that as well.....

And Halo 3: ODST is a stand alone add-on, I might rent it, but I was meaning that I prefer FPS/3rd person simulator, over a FPS story game. (in a nutshell)

This topic reeks of Halo fanboys...Karrde and Sgt Blaze

Really, after what the original Halo 3 put me through to even ATTEMPT to get a 50 or 45, I might not even play ODST. And if Halo Reach is a class based shooter, it sure as hell better include an option to customize your weapons because I am tired of a gun without an iron sights. I don't think any gun today comes without an iron sight.

I'm just gonna wait on release day because I've preordered Modern Warfare 2 and going to preorder Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising ASAP.
If you preorder it, you get to play as Johnson in Firefight :3

I pre-ordered it from game crazy, from what I know I won't be getting johnson. :(

Last I checked, game crazy isn't listed on bungie.net as a participating retailer.

Well, most people, from what I have heard and seen, want the game to play the new campaign, and for the new maps....

And Halo Reach Project has been in working for about 3 years already.....it was estimated to be finished in early 2009, and be completely finished (debugged, tested, beta, copies printed for release, etc.) by mid 2010....it was originally supposed to be 2011, but that was probably an early guess....

It was more than a rumor, it ran through 3 scripts, written by different people, and all done at different times, the most recent was in October of 2008....and it may be the one to become a movie....

But that is the last time I heard about the Reach project...

Hmm, ODST will open the map modding into a new game, and add-ons as well, as not all of ODST's maps will work in Halo 3.....

I rather see free map releases......that's why I like Custom Edition better than Halo 3.....
(But OF:2 is going to be better XD).

Halo: Reach, is going to be the line in WW1. You advance, you fall back, you abuse, and you kill. As simple as that.

Halo 3, online is somewhat better than HCE online. The forging Halo 3, is nothing compare to making actual maps. Last, this Halo, there all great games.

Leaked footage from Halo Reach:

This has already been debunked as incorrect. It was a demo animation he used to apply for a job.

Hmm......I am wondering why they don't make a better map editor for Forge, like a the ability to merge objects without restarting the round..... make it a heck of a lot easier....
