Okay im working on new bipeds for the halo ce community and when I rig my newest biped and go to compile him it says either the vertices look like crap or the triangles but to me he looks perfectly fine?? None of my other new H2 bipeds gave me this trouble?
So I ws just wondering if 3ds max could like highlight problems or u know turn bad vertices or triangles a different color kinda like it does when rigging a character.... (or is that even possible?)

STL Check might work... I haven't used it in a long time so idk.
It's under modifiers->STL Check. Then select the options to check for there.

Depends if they are open edges, degenerate triangles, or bad edges. I'm not exactly sure if this is correct but open edges are just gaps and you need to move the vertices to close them. Degen. Tris are a screwed up triangle I think.
Wait for someone who models (Joshflighter, Newbkilla, or Scrables and others) to help you. I haven't used Max in months.

Rebuild the faces generally. Also try welding the verts to a threshold of 0.1

Okay heres what it says the problems are: Open Edges:3296 Spike:9 Multiple Edge:9
And thats is and Im wondering if spike:9 is the bipeds hair (he has hair)
How can u find the open edges? It tells u the problem be cool if it showed the problem LOL :) Edited by DarkLord0912 on Jun 26, 2009 at 10:07 AM

in editable mesh, under edge, there's a button, "select open edges". On gmax, anyhow.

Go to border and cap em, Ive never done that. Usually you just delete the open edges that stl check selects, and recreate them. Make sure your model is converted to a mesh too, when you export it and its an editable poly you tend to get open edges.
