If you are planning on turbosmoothing that then stop now. It will not turn out nice. Also, when you finish this, it is going to look like a car made out of wood, like a wooden car toy. The way you are going it will anyway.

I recomend you stop now and watch some tutorials. Cars dont have to be made out of 200 triangles... They are meant to be high poly in order to look good. I'd guess the cars on "Midnight Club: LA" are around 9K triangles, somewhere aroung there.

You, sir, are WAY OFF! From this site that came up on google, "Even though Gran Turismo 5's ludicrous 250,000 polygons per car will not be toppled anytime soon, MC:LA still boasts a respectable number, with 100,000 polygons per car." So, don't try for MC:LA cars, try for... midnight club II cars.

i know it may look like it will come out wooden but i am just making a beta of what it will look like then i will fix it up to be much nicer less triangular and more smooth

this is what it looks like now before i smooth and add details to it.

Polygons and triangles are different. I was having a guess, I did not need to be accurate, so there was no need to be corrected. The amount of triangles can be completly different from the amount of polygons, but the triangle number will be higher than the poylgon number.

u sir are correct:

1 polygon can have 5 sides but a 5 sided polygon will have 3 triangles, a polygon can be an infinite number of sides, jsut will look retarded, so it goes liek this, for every 4 sided polygon there are 2 triangles, so a cube has 6 polygons, but 12 faces(aka triangles) when ur counting the triangles, in max instead of select polygon, use select face then select all, or use the stat counter that max has

I'm sorry, but no.
Watch the beretta 9000 tutorial on moddb then try again.
