I know all that....but if that makes it into a map file, where does the map file show up? its not in my maps folder,or the hangemhigh folder, all there is is a scenario file. When i load up the game,i can select and play my map,but its still a scenario file. Also,I did the tool build-cache-file levels/test/hangemhigh/<my map>.

if you can play it, guess where it is? the MAPS folder....
you cannot play .scenarios, and you cannot play maps which are not in the maps folder. tool automatically puts maps in the maps folder for you.

I have the same problem, I edited bloodgulch and saved it under another name like "google".
I used tool++ to make it playable, it's true it is playable, i can choose the map "google" in multiplayer and play with it. But if I look in my map folder in Halo CE, there is no map file "google". I think this is his problem too.

Re-extract the tags from the PC version. Then compile the original scenario. If you kinda screwed over the PC version's as well, re-install.

As for the problem, what Operating System do you use?

Open a folder. Hit the alt key. Click 'Tools'. Folder Options. The 'View' tab. Under "Show Hidden Files and Folders", enable it.

if you are using vista, run sapien, guerrila and tool (not forgetting the cmd u use to run tool) as admin.
that way, debug.txt should show up and be updated the next time u open sapien or guerrilla, and the map u compiled with tool should show up in the MAPS folder.

the reason is, your halo editing kit is installed in the program files folder, which vista requires admin powers for ANY PROGRAM OR YOU to make and edit files in there. Otherwise, the file would be existent (ie. you can find and open the file with any program BUT explorer.exe), but you wouldn't be able to see it (even if you select "show hidden files and folders").

try it.

Two ways of making AI.

For MP mods
1) Set 'respawn enabled', and in the squad, set normal and insane difficulty at 1. Set the minimum respawn, maximum, and total.

For SP
2) Do not tick 'respawn enabled'. In the squad, set the normal and insane difficulty to the amount of AI you want to spawn.

No, you would put total respawn at 0.
