Ello every one, I just got this AWESOME lynix machine set up for gaming and now I'm wondering if it will run with halo ce.

All I know is that it's lynix ubuntu(i dont know how to spell it)
and it has a nvidia 5200 graphics card. I know that halo ce is from 03 and I think the answer will be no, but I figured that I might as well ask. Halo ce is so awesome, that I don't want to give it up, so if there is any way that I could get it to work it would be appreciated.

Not natively you would have to run a Windows emulator. Halo PC/CE are windows only programs.

Microsoft published Halo. Unless you're cursing them, wishing Halo was never made?

But yeah you would need some kind of Windows Emulator to run it-but you would get alot of graphics lagg though. I would just suggest using a dual-boot. Linux and Windows (Windows 7 preferably cause its cool).

wow, you spelled linux wrong. Yes, you can run halo on linux through wine. It works fine on my ubuntu installation. Your crappy fx 5200 won't run it though.

What are you talking about? It works just fine. Try the Windows 7 RC. If that doesn't work run it in compatability mode.

All versions of Windows 7 can run Halo. I could run it on Build 7000 (Beta), and Build 7100 (RC1).

If you mean an Nvidia Geforce FX 5200. That is what I am using right now. It runs halo pretty well in windows with everything on max running it in 800x600. Here is a link on how to install it in ubuntu.

Have fun! lol. I used to run ubuntu until it kept crashing on me. So I reinstalled xp.

That's damn near perfect compared to what I'm using. You obviously have no idea what "bad graphics" really are. Look at this video. It uses the same graphics card I have. Watch this, then look at a 5200 and tell me what's bad.

Download WINE, it's an emulator that emulates windows applications and such. My brother uses it on Ubunu and he is able to play Halo and use 3ds max with it.

Wine is NOT an emulator, it is a set of windows resources put into linux. Then it creates a "fake" C drive to use to install windows programs. It is legal and free.

Talk about run on sentence. Anyway, I mis-worded. I meant it appears to emulate the components needed to run windows on another os.
