Recently I had begun to attempt to create maps for halo ce and finally after downloading multiple tags and tutorials I attempted to make a simple ai map using the tutorial.scenario, but for some reason sapien opens for a split second then closes.
Thinking that there was something wrong with that tut.scenario I downloaded all of the other muliplayer scenarios but the same thing happened, someone on the forums told me to download this thing called E3po sapien but the same thing happened, and I tried with all the scenarios I had.
here are the debug.txt’s I got:
this is the message I got when I tried to open with the E3po sapien thing that I downloaded
06.11.09 03:03:10 E3pO Sap. 01.01.00.0609 ----------------------------------------------
06.11.09 03:03:10 reference function: _write_to_error_file
06.11.09 03:03:10 reference address: 401b13
06.11.09 03:03:10 Couldn't read map file './a_e3pobeta.map'

and this is the one I received when I tried to open with sapien again
06.11.09 03:03:55 sapien pc 01.00.00.0609 ----------------------------------------------
06.11.09 03:03:55 reference function: _write_to_error_file
06.11.09 03:03:55 reference address: 401b13
06.11.09 03:03:55 Couldn't read map file './sapienbeta.map'
someone, anyone pleases tell me what is wrong

You sure that's all? Seems to short. Try bloodgulch. If it's still the same thing, try extracting the tags in the tutorial.map with HEK+. You also need the scenario_structure_bsp, the bitmap, and anything else you can find in the folder with the scenario.

Download it from Halomaps. Someone compiled it, and uploaded it under their name.

Have you set the compatiblity for the sapien program yet. If not that is probably your problem.
To set the compatibility for the program find the sapien icon in your desktop, then click the icon once to highlight it. Then click the right mouse button on the Icon. a window will open that says "shortcut to sapien.exe properties", click on the tab that reads "Compatibility". Look for text in blue that reads "Compatibility Mode" click on the check box to activate "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" Next click on the drop down and choose "Windows 98 / Windows Me" Now click on the "OK" button down below and you are done.

That should take care of the problem.
