1: I remember seeing a tutorial for doing radiosity with Aether (http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=4312) a while back, but it seems to have disappeared from the site. Does anyone know where I can get it gain?

2: Does anyone have any other tutorials for calculating radiosity in 3ds max?

3: Is it possible to use the alphas of images to control if light passes through them? For instance, If I import a tree gbx model, could I use the bitmap for the leaf/bough and it's alpha to make light interact with parts of polygons where the alpha is white (there's a leaf there), but not where it's black (nothing). Because otherwise my trees shadows will be blocky.

4: If I import a sky gbk model, how do I find out the exact position of the sun?

5: Any other tips for doing radiosity outside of sapien?
Thanks!

lightmaps are the result of the radiosity proccess. You run radiosity to make lightmaps. But tool and sapien radiosity isn't that good. To get better quality, you can have something like 3ds max do it. I want to know how to do that. The Aether program helps to set the level up in max, but I don't know what to do from there to run radiosity. I know there are a number of different engines, such as Vray, which can do it. but I don't have or know how to use any of them.

Did you look at DEEhunter's tutorial? It sounds kind of like what you are trying.

Yes. I think it was DEEHunter's tutorial. If you can find it, please post a link, because I can't. That's the problem.

If you can do the radiosity process in 3DS, will you be able to use the lightmap in CE? If yes, how?

Sorry if this is a noobish question :)

Apparently with Aether, yes you can. The problem is how to use max to make them.
If anyone else has every downloaded that tutorial, please post here! I messaged DEEhunter and even he lost his copy (though he made another shorter version), so if you have it, it could be the last copy in existance!

The second short version is here...

But the longer version,. as I remember, is better.
