I've heard about the so called "Sever ghost[s]" and I want to know when are the most likely to show up. Does any one know?

No such thing in Halo PC/CE.

Halo 2 and Halo 3? Yes. Its a Networking bug in those games.
But the closest thing in Halo CE/PC to this is when someone tries to eliminate fall damage/death for a map in the wrong way (because the kill player script used when people leave a game uses falling. When disabled, their bodies stay ingame until killed, and so do players.

This fault is found in both DMT race and RPG Beta 5. 6 fixes this because... well, I have died from falling on that map! (I tried to get to the top of that spire... it's not solid there.)

Solution is to always activate cheat_jumpjet or whatever it is called (I type cheat_j then press tab in console) via a level script so that there is no fall damage, but players will still leave the game properly.

Some thing close to that. Only Halo CE ghost are like random deaths,Random cars,Random no named people who can do the things the Ghost of Lockout can do.

There is a such thing as ghost in Servers me and, my freind had to eat spagetti and, I was alone for a while (30 minutes) and, all out of nowere something shoots me with a sniper and I die but, it does'nt say killed by and then I treid looking for em my freind was dead on the floor I got a good look at him\her his feet were above the ground and he was a black spartan this happened on Z Sancuary H2 PB2.

I've seen happenings like yours on youtube.

No he knows his xfire is: slider250 and, it happened on Z sancuary H2 Pb2.

I know my xfire too.

I don't. This slider guy must be super leet.

Maybe the Ghosts might be hackers or Bungie workers {halo 3 ghost are mostly the work of Bungie workers.}

No. First of all, why would Bungie play a 5 year old game on a custom map that they didn't make? Also, who bothers hacking into a server made by PVT Jenkins just to shoot him with a sniper rifle, and float above the ground?

Bungie workers are always watchin' over you online when your playin' Halo 3,how do you think random nades and all that good jazz show up in a game online on Halo 3...and you are alone? Bungie workers that's how...they use a hack that helps them join your game but you can't see them.
