Msg. 1 of 18
first, let me ask if i've got this right. RAM is your memory right? and if so then here's my real question.
well i've been trying to make a map for like 1-2 years but i've always had a tool.exe problem. it just never worked for me. now that i finaly get it to start working, it is taking up way too much of my RAM/memory.
i'm using HEK plus and after it's been going for a while, i've just let it sit for a while and let it do it's thing. then after a while, i get this little "exception" thing. it says that i've run out of memory.
i go to the paging file and on each of my 3 hard drives i put them at the full capacity that's allowed. since it says that it's used as RAM.
and it still didn't work.
HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!! Edited by canichols2 on May 18, 2009 at 07:39 PM

I don't think virtual RAM cuts it. But even 1 GB of actual RAM should be able to run HEK+. This probably isn't a memory error then. Try getting a newer version of HEK+.

HEK + runs, it's the map compiling that messes it up.
and what about that error message that says that i don't have enough memory or whatever.

Compile a map. When it fails, go to your Halo Custom Edition directory, and find a file called "debug.txt". Open that up. Copy the last few paragraphs, and paste it here.

Here's the complete dir for where the jms file is.
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\data\levels\test\Halo_level1\models
if it made the tag then it would've been put in this dir right?
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\tags\levels\test\Halo_level1\models
well, it's not there. the rest of the dir wasn't even created.

I don't think think you enter that command correctly. Try tool models levels\test\halo_level1 or tool models levels\test\halo_level1/models Can't confirm, sis hijacked mah computer

It's not your ram. I'm running only 512 mb of ram and I can use HEK easily.

The only error / warning on there is that it could not find toolbeta.map.

I know it's not the error, the reference thing just means it put it in the debug.txt file. All errors in the debug.txt have that at the top.
