hey is there a way to mod the controls so instead of flshlight you could make master chief walk instead of run i thought of this idea because of machinimas it's hard to make one with the actor running all the time and was just curious if this was possible. so is it?

Create a script that slaves the walk command to the flashlight. Doesn't sync over the internet though.

The player flashlight syncs, so the walking animation mode doesn't need to sync. The script would take care of that.

Really? Because on Delta47's video, he said in the description that it doesn't sync online.

I'm very sure it does. Although I can't say I know it does, since I've never truly tested it. I'll test it sometime soon over my LAN. But yeah, the flashlight has to be synced online. It makes sense, since the flashlight is readily usable in all of the default maps. It's just as ready to use as throwing a grenade and shooting your gun, so there's no reason for why it shouldn't sync.

I know it looks clumsy, but the point of having the static scripts run 16 times is so that every player is checked in one tick so that there's an instant response.

If I made the two static scripts continuous and got rid of the last one, it would still work fine, but it would check all players in 16 ticks, or about half a second, since the "num" variable would only go up one in each tick. This means that there might be as long as a half-second delay before the walking starts, or there might be no delay, depending on which player's being checked.

Basically, it's not that big of a deal, but I did that because I don't want a delay if there doesn't have to be one.

The funny part is, that script actually does conserve space. Until I learned about "static" scripts, I would have jammed all of the commands under each script 16 times in order to get the check all of the players in one tick, which would have looked a lot worse than that.

But now with the static scripts, I can just lay out the two scripts one time, and then just stick their name in the continuous script below to run them 16 times and get the same result.

alright cool. i just thought it was a syntax thing and that i was doing my scripts wrong..... you know, back when i actually got off my ass and made stuff for halo on a regular basis
