is there a script command that makes a non player unit change weapons or... anything that will induce a non player unit to change weapons?

how about try an ai major variant setup? the ai dies and is changed to an equal variant with the other weapon

Yes, but the AI would have to die to do it and then respawn, not switch while alive, which is what he wants. Also, you cannot force AI to drop weapons.

hmm well if there is no other way, the major variant idea is a good one.

then have the major variant's major variant as the original variant so it continuously switches
