Shall we play a game?

Ok. For this topic, I would like to say some stuff....

I know that several people have posted such a topic before (whether or not it is the same title).
I have read some of these posts.
And finally, i still don't get it.

HOW DO YOU PLACE AI INTO VEHICLES (ESPECIALLY THE DRIVER SEAT)?
HOW DO YOU MAKE THEM DRIVE PROPERLY?

I tried to use ai commands in sapien. Failed.
I tried to use the scripts for ai to get into vehicles. Failed.

I am not trying to be rude. I just want some help.
I am at my wits' end for this.
I can create AI battles but they all are on foot.
The AI only go into a vehicle i m in.

u can call me a n00b if u want. I wouldn't mind.
but please, help me.

How did they 'fail'? What kind of commands and scripting syntaxes did you use?

Well, this is what i did using sapien..

i opened the scenario file, then went to hierachy view. i clicked mission > AI > command lists. then, i clicked new instance, named the command list ai_get_into_vehicles. I selected the flags "allow initiative" and "allow targeting". Then, i created a new command under the ai_get_into_vehicles command list, changed its atom type to vehicle and selected "any seat" under modifier. i left vehicle dist. at 0. Then, i put a mp_warthog vehicle in the map, placed 3 marine AI near it (and did all the necessary stuff to make them appear) and set all their starting locations to use the ai_get_into_vehicles command list. After that, i saved the scenario file and restarted sapien.

however, none of the marines got into the hog.
that is my sapien failure.

ok you need to tag the vehicle so the marine goes can enter it. Since it cant by default. and uncheck the "allow initiative" because that make the encounter to stop running the command list once it enters into combat. The combat will override the command list and the command list would be a waste of time.

but how do i tag the vehicle so the marine can go into it?

its in guerilla. Go here and see what it says about tagging it. This is warthogs only!
the ghost and wraith and gun turret are already enterable vehicles its just the tank and warthog that have to be tagged. anyways ill edit this post with the link.

ok. am trying the methods u mentioned, and will post again if successful.

btw, is the banshee, wraith, and gun turret enterable by marines? If not, what do i do so that they can enter these vehicles?

Gun Turret, yes. You will need to create anims for the Banshee and Wraith first or it'll look ugly.

Ok. so i managed to get the marines into the hog, but now the marines don't even to move the hog (they only steer it left and right, because i see their wheels turning in opposite directions). Also, each time a marine gets in a hog, i get these errors in sapien....

04.24.09 21:23:39 AI error condition detected, attempting to recover (please tell butcher)...

btw, i changed the command list's name to set_radius, and did the relevant stuff so that my marines would use the command list.

what is this, and how do i solve it?

No set radius is needed. Also, somethings wrong with your AI actor files. Re-ripping them is the only solution I can think of.
