Has anyone ever created a surface-to-air missle, launchable from a fixed or mobile platform that could be used for bringing down pelicans, jets, longswords, or any piloted craft? How about a surface-to-surface missle that could be launched from maybe a silo on one side of a map and impact at the other side with a nuke, or maybe a C4 size explosive?

Edited by Mysterion on Apr 2, 2009 at 08:07 AM ok. i would say try making a missile "biped" that has a detonation effect whith a timer or something. that, or a scenery that fires the missile projectile in a set direction. youll have to play around with the tags either way

What I am talking about is something like a medium range ballistic missle, that you could mount on a trailer, or in a silo that after hitting a switch, it launches toward the enemy.
I have had trouble with the missle warthog tags. When placing them on a map and compiling, the missles are always pointed the wrong way and when fired, blow up the warthog.

yes, i have had that problem also. i would suggest a turret type vehicle (a silo maybe?). that probably would be the easiest way to do it. also, make it that it has a missile that has some gravity on it so it has the falling effect. an example is a silo with the controls in a small room at the bottom with no animations (if it is just an open silo), or try to get some reasonable open\close animations done for a firing animation

Anyone know how to fix this missle hog problem? I have Vista, but don't know if it is related to windows or not. It works fine in a precompiled map, so it must be related to the placed vehicle tag.

Model a stationary turret that has home turned way up. So when you fire it homes in on any enemy vehicle. The only downside is that it will home onto the players as well.
