Okay I'll try to explain the best I can.... Okay imagine a single sold door.... I made... I tried to give it a animation where the whole door just goes upwards.... not abunch of moving parts the whole door is one solid piece that starts down (closed) and moves upwards in the air (direction) when it's (opened).... K
But I was trying to figure out how does halo know how to mark the doors movement I made a door... made a box linked door to frame.... then hit the animate button and the first frame is the door down (closed) last frame I move the door up enough (opened) save it as .jmo compiles fine but when I hit the switch for it nothing happends???
So my question is do I put a node or something in the air in gmax to let halo know thats where the door moves to when it's opened??? And I made a node at the base of the door before I moved it or animated it and named that door root???
I hope someone understands this it hard to explain but all Im saying is how do I mark this in the animating steps?? So halo knows where to move the object?? Edited by DarkLord0912 on Mar 23, 2009 at 03:01 PM

I don't know much about this, but at least i know something. No, you don't have to make a node in the place where it goes to. You said the door didn't move when you activated a switch, right? I think you'll have to link that switch's status, to let the door open. I don't know how, but i do know you need to script it. Maybe someone with scripting experience knows it.

For devices, specifically a door:
Have your model and frames ready. (for your case) Make it so there are 3 animation keys.
0=Default (should be closed) 1=Closed 2=Open
Then export as "device position.JMO"
