Okay here's me remodeling my hammer making my own LOL :) And the problem I get is warning no geometry??? I've put 2 boxes around my hammer in 2 places and named it frame and linked it to frame gun but it still says that?

Im not sure what the problem is it just keeps saying no geometry? Have I done this right?

Link _Unnamed to Frame Gun and Frame Gun to Frame So that it looks like this:

Frame
---Frame Gun
------_Unnamed

:) Don't forget to use the link tool to do this.

select both __unnamed and frame ... the non-gun frame. Then click the Link mode button, then the object select dialog button (or press H), and then select the parent (frame gun) for the 2 objects. Or select the 2, then click and drag to the parent. That won't work if the parent object is inside the mesh, but your frame isn't completely inside __unnamed, so max's mouse/object intersect algorithm thingy will correctly pick frame gun (thats the blue one in the middle, right?)

That error is a direct result from not having your geometry linked to a frame. It only exports stuff linked to frames

Why the boxes? A gbxmodel export has only nodes, mesh, and markers, and collision only nodes and mesh - pretty sure no markers are needed for collision. Your "geometry boxes" look as if they're set up for physics, but only vehicles use physics. If they're for collision, that's a seperate export. You should make a collision model that matches the gbxmodel a little more closely, like moving the verts of a box with 5 height segments and 1 length and width segments to the approximate shape of the model

okay thanks guys that was alot of help now the only thing now is when i export halo structure with chimp it says:unable to find any used materials,ensure your objects properly have materials assigned to them???

Texture your model and apply a blank material to all the nodes.

Thanks everyone yeah It only does that if u export using chimp..not jms exporter any who
What bout markers and nodes do u give them a blank material?

no material for them

chimp optionally exports some "debug" or something - it adds text at the top and i think bottom too of the jms, so it needs editing before tool will recognize it. Just use bluestreak, it's newer and fancier :p

LOD - Level of Detail, you probably wont need these if you're putting that hammer of yours into a map with a lot of large areas where far away details wont be noticeable to cause low frame rates.

thanks guys now if I could just meet someone who knew animaitons like u guys know modeling thanks alot also my new hammer glows 0.0 cool right HE HE HE
