so, im going to work on some animations that i have been thinking about for a while, but i need help, because this is my first time animating, and i have no idea what im doing or how many frames i need. im planning to make a ma5c reload anim.
1.)how many frames should my reload be?
2.)how do you render animations?
3.)are there any indepth tutorials on animating?

1) My H3 AR Copy reloads turn out to be between 60-73 frames
2) Press F10, scroll down a bit until you see "Render Output." Click on 'Files...' then select the spot you want your render to be. Name it, click save, then go back up to the top under "Time Output." Click the bubble next to 'Active Time Segment: 0-##' then click on 'render' in the bottom right of the window. It'll render it then put it in that spot you selected.
3) None that I know of, I mostly just had people teach me what I needed to start, then taught myself from there. 'Course I asked the occasional questions like "How do I make it so that the origin in this scene is the same as this one?" (Transferring coordinates) and other things that are just 3ds max problems in general.

An animation can be any number of frames, it just depends how commited you are and how long the reload would be in real life.

i think ill start right now, ive been watching a movie for like the past 2 hours and havn't been able to look at my post, but now that i learned some stuff, im gonna work on my anim. EDIT:if anyone is looking for a fp animating tutorial i found one here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMpGa8wpiJ8, i haven't seen the vid yet, so i dont know if its good EDIT:how do you change the amount of frames you can do, caus i only see 20 frame slots at the bottom Edited by halo3n00b on Mar 16, 2009 at 05:48 PM
