That usually means only a few people actually rated it.

Don't know whether its a bug or something. But... why do ratings always go down once they are uploaded?

Because real people start to rate the maps realistically, giving them the ratings they deserve. No map deserves to have a perfect 10.

Only way a map can get a perfect 10, is if its purely custom with purely custom textures, bsp, models, gameplay, balance, and custom tags.

The ratings are accurate, yes, but there are people who like to rate everthing 1, or 10, and theres people who actually rate them normally.

But it based on how many that rates so its expected to go down after some time.Besides i dont know how many that use that rating system..at all.

ratings are not an accurate description of the map, ratings are a 100% accurate number that reflect the averaged number of what people clicked. if somebody rates a cmt map 1 for whatever reason, then that is how they feel.

This is exactly correct. I actually like the discussions about the ratings or "polls" because everyone thinks they are gospel and tell people what they should like. There is a whole science of statistics and a branch of marketing about poling and data collection that is often taken for granted and yet we accept public opinion polls as the truth, when in fact they are only approximations. That is why I tell people those ratings are 100% accurate. They are a mean average of what people who voted, think. They are not necessarily what you think. They are just a tool to help you make a decision and should not be construed as the decision itself. The answer to the question “what are the best maps” is limited only by the actual number of maps available. You have to make up your own mind.

I like this, because from what I can see, users only rate them from either a 1 or 10. I like to rate it for its true value in my opinion. I test it first before I actually rate it. I can do a poll, and I can guarantee most of the users who rate it, rate it for looks, not game play. But there are specifications for peoples interests. Such as, does the map look like its worth playing. I can tell you from experience, looks are deceiving. What makes a map, a good map, in my opinion, is the way its laid out, and the way it was made. For players, its based on the look, and the amount of weapons and vehicles in the maps, but I can't say that for all because of different opinions, not all people are the same. Sorry for all the run on sentences by the way. Where am I getting at? Its all based on popularity. You can tell, from observations that the maps mostly rated from an 8 or 9 are usually the maps that are downloaded the most. Mainly because of look, and map size, vehicles and weapons, and some even go for the conversions people made.

Well not weird the ratings is so high since the average raters rate 10 at the first map they see..Well its their choise..Cause the rating is for the top 100 ratelist right?
