I was thinking, I'm making Crysis Warhead FP arms, but when I was making them, I realised I missed my legs =O

So, what would be the most practical way to include legs? there are some possabilities I thought up, theoretically they could work:

-Add them to the weapon model (like the wobbling when you go any direction, add the leg anims to it)

-Add them to the FP model in general and make a new animation file

Any other ideas how to implent legs? like halo 2 and crysis etc, it would be nice to see some good idea as i'm texturing them anyways

First, I don't think legs work because visual draw distance doesn't change. When you point your rifle up, you don't draw it towards your body like you do in reality (you do, I do some fun competitions with my redneck buds :D). They have this in H2&3. That's why, when you look down, you can see your legs.
Second, Crysis, IN MY HALO >:O Sounds good lol

Wont work either way. When you point your camera up or down, the legs would move with it, thus never being able to see the legs.

Hes not making it, all hes doing is a rig. The arms are obviously ripped.

Ever notice that 90% of all maps are made by people outside the community? I wonder why...

Nah I'm really working on a few projects, that include halo 3 perms, the armored flood forms, these FP models, and the female armors, but i'm just doing it all and when i just want to =P but don't worry, everything will be finished and released, it's holidays this week for me ya know



But it's too bad that FP legs are not really possible with huge glitches, so i'll have to ditch those

I really don't see why you need FP legs. Most other shooters don't have them. Or at least the ones I play...

Crysis, Halo 2, Halo 3, Left 4 Dead, there are enough games that have first person legs, but since they don't change gameplay, half of the games won't have it
If we can't put them in halo 1 either, it won't be such a big deal, but it's a dissapointment

Sure it's a nice visual, but I just don't see the need for them at all in an FPS...

The on;y thing I could see it for gameplay wise would be a kick melee.

You've played FEAR I assume? lol, well a kick would be a nice melee replacement, or a jump kick just like fear, making a new animation for airborne melee, like all other moves have airborne variants

the biggest problem would be that the lags also move with whatever model it's attached to, so it can't have it's own static place

Isn't there some way to enable the third person body by a simple box check? like, some effects only appear in third person if you check the box "don't draw in FP" or whatever, wouldn't there be a little box for third person body too?
